Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Type 97 Te-Ke tankette article

edit

You recent edits have been reverted given they are not WP:RS cited and your "guess" or what you think the machine gun may be is irrelevant; please read WP:OR. We must go by the RS cited sources, our opinions do not matter. The cited sources, which I double checked yesterday, state the Type 97 heavy tank machine gun was the one used. If you have a RS source that states the 7.7 mm aircraft machine gun was used on this occasion for this IJA tankette, then you must provide it for consideration. Otherwise, you are edit-warring if you revert again. For any further discussion one is to go to the talk page for an article; see WP:BRD. Kierzek (talk) 13:14, 11 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Look these pages they not have that Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II, General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon also i think it is unnecessary as they will not operate. If it enters service we can add them on operational section with their names mentioned. Shadow4dark (talk) 01:45, 19 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Yes that's my point, those articles also DOES NOT show the flags of the POTENTIAL operators, so why you added it back? what is your point? what are you trying to say? also you might want to properly cite your source, don't just add bare links. Jauhsekali (talk) 01:51, 19 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
Bare links are fixed, sometimes the bot is not working. You can delete these flags but you made worser to adding unnecessary sections for irrelevant countries. Shadow4dark (talk) 02:01, 19 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
How are those irrelevant? if those countries are irrelevant, why don't you delete it in your edits? you only reinstating the flags without deleting your so called "irrelevant countries". Jauhsekali (talk) 02:04, 19 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
Or, just change the name of section from "Exports" to "Potential bids", it would cover any country that are only interested to those that has signed contract, and Potential bids is also used on many other combat aircraft article. Jauhsekali (talk) 02:12, 19 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

February 2026

Information icon Hello, I'm Swatjester. I noticed that you recently removed content from Chengdu J-10 without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Please do not remove reliably sourced content, particularly with inaccurate edit summaries such as "rumor milling"; that is not an appropriate way to describe the content in question, which was reliably sourced to three subject matter experts in a major regional media outlet. It appears you did not actually check the URL (which was incorrect, I fixed it to the correct link) or confirm the reliability of the underlying claim: see e.g. the AP confirming the same announcement, for instance. Please take more care in the future when reverting content. Thanks. SWATJester Shoot Blues, Tell VileRat! 02:48, 5 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I have explained the issue with 42 units of J-10 before at Talk:Chengdu J-10#Indonesian J-10, my problem is there's no definitive source of where the number 42 comes from, as even the Indonesian government officials is yet to reveal the actual number of J-10s. Yes, many reputable media has reported the number 42, but they did not reveal where do they got the numbers from. I say this is a woozle effect, just because they're cited from reputable media doesn't mean they're true. Jauhsekali (talk) 03:15, 5 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
My conclusion is, unless there are source that explicitly mention that the involved stakeholders (government officials, the military, and/or the manufacturer) has stated that Indonesia would acquire 42 J-10s, then it's just a mere unfounded rumors, which does not belongs to Wikipedia, and if so, has to be stated as rumors and not actual decision taken by the Indonesian government. Jauhsekali (talk) 03:21, 5 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
I'm genuinely surprised that with over 8,000 edits on this project, that you seem to completely misunderstand the core premises of our verifiability and reliable source policies. We are not responsible for hunting down the original source of the 42 aircraft claim. It is sufficient that multiple reliable sources, including the per-consensus perennially reliable AP News, say that it is correct. Wikipedia runs on verifiability; not truth; the claim of 42 aircraft being acquired is quite easily verifiable to the given sources. That's all that is required. SWATJester Shoot Blues, Tell VileRat! 03:23, 5 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Then would it be okay to list them as mere "claim", since there no official statements yet? Jauhsekali (talk) 03:25, 5 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
There is an official statement, as the AP directly states that there is: Indonesia’s top defense official said Wednesday that Jakarta will acquire at least 42 Chinese-made Chengdu J-10C fighter jets, marking the country’s first non-Western aircraft purchase deal. The AP is expressly stating that this statement was made to reporters. Their article does not need to quote him word for word; we are quite capable of accepting their paraphrasing of his statement. In fact, it would be less ideal to use the official statement instead, as that would be a WP:PRIMARY source, whereas the AP is a fact-checked WP:SECONDARY source. SWATJester Shoot Blues, Tell VileRat! 03:29, 5 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
You see, previously I have written the published timeline of Indonesian interest on J-10, which includes points that I personally did not agree at here, but then it got simplified by other editor. So I think okay then, maybe we should stick to official stuff. And so, could we get back to this version please? Jauhsekali (talk) 03:31, 5 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Why would we remove reliably sourced content based on your personal preference? There is no policy-based reason to remove the claim. No, that's absolutely not OK. The edit you're referring to cut out a large amount of unnecessary detail that was not particularly helpful to the reader's understanding of the article, and summarized it at a higher level; none of that is particularly relevant to removing the number of aircraft being purchased, which very much *is* relevant to the reader's understanding and does not require a summarization for brevity. SWATJester Shoot Blues, Tell VileRat! 03:34, 5 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Including the Bloomberg article where it directly contradicts the "established" 42 number? Jauhsekali (talk) 03:44, 5 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Where does it "directly contradict" the number? There are only two Bloomberg links in the article at this time. Both were written 5 months prior to the announcement, so clearly you can't mean those. If you meant the one you posted on the talk page, that doesn't contradict the claim -- it says that Bloomberg did not get an answer when they asked how many. Bloomberg not receiving an answer does not contradict the AP's explicit statement as to the number. But again, that Bloomberg piece is not actually present in the article. What would be a direct contradiction would be if Bloomberg said "No, there are 17 being purchased." Bloomberg saying "Our outlet does not know exactly how many are being purchased" does not contradict the AP News statement as to what *they* were told was the range being purchased. But if you want, we could attribute the AP's claim with "According to the Associated Press", SWATJester Shoot Blues, Tell VileRat! 03:51, 5 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Very well, at the very least I could agree with the AP attribution. Jauhsekali (talk) 03:57, 5 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. Jauhsekali (talk) 03:58, 5 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
