Re: RAOK
editThanks Hurricane Wind and Fire! I try and be a helpful editor and be welcoming. That's mostly because I am sure I have annoyed many editors over the years, and I'm still trying to do better. I'm curious what aspect of storms you're most interested in. I've seen your name around here and there. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 21:15, 1 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Hurricanehink I'm realizing that for tropical cyclones, I'm having a harder time expanding the met history and impact section because I am less knowledgeable in the subject. I think I'm getting more into updating lists for individual states, as I'm seeing some lists (namely List of Delaware hurricanes) that are no longer up to featured article status I want to work on. I'm still mainly focusing on updating and creating articles related to wildfires, and recently my two recent DYK-approved articles. Thanks for the message, Hurricane Wind and Fire (talk) 21:23, 1 November 2025 (UTC)
- Just so you know, the impact section is much easier than the met history! The main thing you need to do is organize the information and cite it. And the citing part can be as easy as <ref>https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/data/tcr/AL012025_Andrea.pdf</ref>, if you just include the URL. The lists for individual states are on the easier side, since you can rely on existing articles to help flesh it out, but sometimes you need to do more research. For example, you mentioned the List of Delaware hurricanes - none of the storms since Jeanne in 2004 have any kind of damage totals. Also, the one storm-related death (Isaias) doesn't have what happened. But you might have to do some research. I'm curious, do you know where you can find information such as damage totals and storm fatalities? There are many such resources, but I wanted to see if you knew any of them first. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 17:58, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
- For damage totals, I know AccuWeather is not a reliable source, but overall for fatalities and damage, I really only look for AP articles or news articles that cite AP. Otherwise, I normally look at the USA Today franchise articles (like this) until my free article limit runs out :/ 🌀Hurricane Wind and Fire (talk) (contribs)🔥 18:09, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
- The AP is good, but they're not the only reliable source. I wanted to make sure you knew about the NCDC storm event database. You can look up by any state/date/weather event. Good reports are from the mid-1990s to the present, but sometimes they have older events going back to 1950. Here are the reports for Tropical Storm Isaias. However, this information is often replicated from other sources, such as the National Weather Service. Here is the NWS report, which has a ton of information, check out all of the tabs, like Environment, Warnings, PSH, Tropical Storm Reports, etc. Don't forget to check out the tropical cyclone reports on the NHC website, which go back to at least 1991 (with a ton of reports for older storms available elsewhere). I hope that helps, but isn't too overwhelming at the same time! ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 18:22, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Hurricanehink, thank you for all the sources! I will work on improving List of Delaware hurricanes in the next couple days, but right now, I'm going in and out of an edit in my userspace draft to view the sources you've given me and I have something in real life I need to pay attention to. I will bookmark these websites and look at them. 🌀Hurricane Wind and Fire (talk) (contribs)🔥 18:27, 2 November 2025 (UTC)

I see you have a bunch of drafts for wildfire articles. I think you have the better idea of working on state wildfire lists by year, like the 2025 New Mexico wildfires. It would be nice to have "Wildfires in..." each state someday. Check out the template for US wildfires, which shows a bunch of redlinks, meaning a bunch of state articles don't exist yet. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 20:52, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Hurricanehink I'm working on the lists for Nevada and Utah in my sandbox, but the problem is, there are a lot of states (especially along the East Coast) that do not have enough notable wildfires. And the ones notable enough for lists, such as Nevada, Utah, and Idaho, will take a very long time to complete because I have to find a lot of information. With 2020 Nevada wildfires being outdated, the only thing keeping me together in my sandbox right now is this source! While I tend to focus on writing about individual wildfires and updating season articles, I will pursue creating lists for the three states I mentioned. 🌀Hurricane Wind and Fire (talk) (contribs)🔥 21:47, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
- I wasn't sure how widely available the info was, compared to hurricanes, which are very easy to get information for going back centuries. As for Nevada, you could base the yearly wildfire list off of California. There is already 2024 and 2025 Nevada wildfires, so you don't need to recreate that. Have you tried NCDC for previous years? Here is a list of Nevada events and Utah events going back to 1997. Hope that helps a bit! ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 01:11, 3 November 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks! I'm trying to go as far back as I can where season articles are no longer present, but 1980 may be the limit with the ARCGIS source. For recent years as far back as the 2010s or so, I will be using a lot of local news outlets (like KTVN or KUTV), but I very recently became an AfC reviewer on a probationary basis guess I know how to spend my free Saturday mornings now. These sources will really help. I should be good finishing the 2020s for Nevada and Utah, as I wrote the 2022 and 2025 season articles for NV and nearly finished 2021 before deleting it with the wrong keyboard shortcut, along 2023 and 2025 for UT and a complete 2020 article to guide me. Again, thanks for the help, even though you do not edit in this subject. 🌀Hurricane Wind and Fire (talk) (contribs)🔥 01:46, 3 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hey, 1980 isn't bad, that's a solid 40 some years of information! And it's not like wildfires have been named and documented consistently in that entire time. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 18:05, 3 November 2025 (UTC)

I need your help please. Can you look over the updated draft of Jack Hubley? I managed to add 2 more references. I didn't submit it just yet. R2025kt (talk) 17:22, 15 November 2025 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, I can't view the sources because of the required subscription (I once started a free trial but never subscribed). If the new sources significantly cover the subject and are completely independent, you will have 4 sources to contribute to establishing notability. While not necessary, I suggest you find more secondary sources that are not related to his former employer, programs he runs, or articles he wrote, and if they support all the statements referenced to primary sources, the draft will almost definitely be accepted. I will not review the draft if you submit it again because I cannot verify the sources and I would like another uninvolved reviewer to look at the draft. Feel free to ask any more questions in this topic. 🌀Hurricane Wind and Fire (talk) (contribs)🔥 17:46, 15 November 2025 (UTC)
Draft: Carolizing Christmas
editHello, My draft was recently declined for lack of notability. I included three quotes on the subject from reputable publication with citations. Is this not considered notable? What else can I do to provide evidence of notability? Warner4992 (talk) 07:16, 17 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Warner4992 While I am not completely sure, it appears this is reference 5. Even though this source is describing the
best live Christmastime performances around the Bay Area
, this is potentially subjective. Additionally, it does not significantly cover the subject. If we do not include this SF Chronicle source, there are 2 out of 3 reliable sources contributing to the general notability guideline. If you find one more reliable source that significantly covers the subject (i.e., several paragraphs about the song itself), then add information supported by the new source, the draft should be accepted. - You can keep the current San Francisco Chronicle source; it will be useful in the final article. Ask me any more questions if you need to. 🌀Hurricane Wind and Fire (talk) (contribs)🔥 14:48, 17 November 2025 (UTC)

Hello, I didn't use ChatGPT
editI'm really sorry about starting a whole new discussion about this, but this draft I wrote about this company was declined because it looked like some AI wrote it and I am very new to wikipedia and I'm not sure how to communicate to you.
So yeah, I didn't use chatgpt or any AI tool. I did use Grammarly and spell check but that's it. I don't use AI, I hate AI with a passion. Is there some tool I can use to prove otherwise? CarolNotOfTheBells (talk) 10:18, 1 December 2025 (UTC)
- I guess that some of the writing appeared to be AI generated (slightly promotional) and if it was just that, I would have declined the draft for not fully adhering to a neutral point of view, but the
(your article name) is... Centena Group
appeared to be the output of a discussion with a large language model. - I am sorry for declining your draft that way, otherwise, I would have declined for a different reason related to the wording of the draft. It appears the main concern to address is now notability. Unfortunately, there is no tool to proof otherwise, but you can edit to address the language not in a neutral point of view or that can appear to be AI generated per Wikipedia:Signs of AI writing.

- I'll keep working on the draft, see if I can make this more neutral CarolNotOfTheBells (talk) 03:53, 2 December 2025 (UTC)

Regarding Draft:CWCki and Kiwi Farms
edit@Hurricane Wind and Fire Hello, and thank you for your feedback on my draft! I just wanted to confirm based on your comment that Draft:CWCki has too much shared content with Kiwi Farms, and therefore falls under WP:REDUNDANT regardless of the technically separate topic and should be proposed for a merge at Talk:Kiwi Farms? Alexishere13 (talk) 00:01, 6 December 2025 (UTC)
- @Alexishere13, yes. While a proposed merge would not necessarily be the best option, it would not be a bad idea to begin a regular proposal on the talk page. You are not an extended-confirmed user, so due to the protection of the page, you will be unable to edit the page. Submitting an edit request might be the way to go. 🌀Hurricane Wind and Fire (talk) (contribs)🔥 00:07, 6 December 2025 (UTC)
Regarding Draft: 3 Sided Cube
editHi Hurricane Wind and Fire, I hope you're having a nice day!
I'm contacting you regarding the declining of my draft for the software company 3 Sided Cube. The error says that it shows signs of LLM usage which is frankly really frustrating for me since I took the time to research Wikipedia's article policies and write out everything (including all the linkage) myself manually. I have iterated this article numerous times and I would really appreciate some feedback on how to get this published and what the real reason for the declines are.
I appreciate you're comment being 'Please remove external links from the body of the article, or convert them to inline citations if that is their purpose.' Is there any chance you could be a bit more specific as to what this looks like from my draft's perspective? I'm also wondering if I was to correct this, would the draft then be accepted?
I know you're just maintaining quality across wikipedia and I appreciate that. However I'm struggling to see how to get the article published when there's signs of LLM usage even when I've manually re-written the article numerous times now whilst trying my best to meet all notability requirements. I hope to hear from you soon, have a great day. :) Harry3sidedcube (talk) 11:12, 8 December 2025 (UTC)
- @Harry3sidedcube, I'm very sorry for declining your draft for LLM usage. However, some of the language combined with the bullet points and bolding throughout the article was similar to some easily identifiable AI-generated drafts I've reviewed in the past. Some language, such as
purpose-led organisations
is in a bit of a gray area: while this information may be true, I can't really find it in the sources provided, so it is not completely in a neutral point of view and can be considered drawing conclusions. Also, it's better for readers to remove bolding words like this in the middle of the draft, unless it is an alternate name recognized by reliable sources, because it goes against this manual of style page. - For changing the external links to inline citations, I am talking about changing "The Virtual Doctors" external link to a reference. However, in this instance, it might be better to move that external link to the external links section. Changing this would not guarantee the draft is accepted, but external links to a website somehow affiliated with the subject of the draft appears promotional, even though your draft is not. Through editing your draft, you might use the citation generator or do it manually. If you type the template yourself, the markup would be similar to this:
- <ref>{{cite web |title=Virtual Doctors |url=https://virtualdoctors.org/ |access-date=December 8, 2025 |website=virtualdoctors.org}}</ref>
- If you were trying to add a link to another Wikipedia article, it is not necessary, although you could consider adding a red link, where the format for a normal link is the same, but the target article will just appear red, like Virtual Doctors. This can encourage other editors to create an article for the subject, as well.
- If you have any more questions, don't be afraid to ask. Hope you're doing well, 🌀Hurricane Wind and Fire (talk) (contribs)🔥 14:40, 8 December 2025 (UTC)
- Hi again,
- Thank you for the prompt feedback. Even though LLMs have not been used, I have made updates to the article addressing all of your points (language, bold text, bullet points and external links) in hope of it being accepted next time it gets reviewed. I have resubmitted.
- Have a nice evening. Harry3sidedcube (talk) 15:34, 8 December 2025 (UTC)

Rewritten draft addressing AfC concerns
editThank you for the earlier AfC review. The draft has now been fully rewritten from scratch to address all concerns raised in the decline notice.
Major changes include: • Complete rewrite into a neutral, encyclopaedic tone. • Removal of promotional or subjective language. • All statements now supported exclusively by independent, reliable, published sources. • Removal of internal company material or claims not backed by third-party reporting. • Restructuring to follow standard Wikipedia biography format.
I welcome any further guidance to bring this draft to full compliance with Wikipedia’s notability and verifiability standards.
SusanMCastle (talk) 06:45, 16 December 2025 (UTC)
- @SusanMCastle it appears the main concern is now notability. It appears most of the sources do not significantly cover the subject, which is crucial for establishing notability. For example, you could have an article with 150 references, but if only 2 really talk about the subject and the other 148 make very little or no mention, the topic is non-notable. Also, the YouTube sources do not establish notability because they are either unreliable because they are user-generated (anybody can create a YouTube video and say practically anything they want, whether or not it is true), and it can only be considered reliable if it is created by the subject (which means it is primary, and cannot establish notability). If you can find more reliable sources independent of the subject that thoroughly discuss it, Castle should be notable. However, ensure the new information you are adding in adheres to a neutral point of view. Otherwise, the draft will be declined for reading like an advertisement again. 🌀Hurricane Wind and Fire (talk) (contribs)🔥 14:15, 16 December 2025 (UTC)

Thank you for the unexpected Christmas present, it was greatly appreciated! Just as a possible piece of follow-up, you rightly declined this draft Draft:Balanda (ethnic group) due to poor sources. Well it got re-submitted, still sourcing was insufficient. So I elected to delve a little deeper to add in the online sources and discovered this was all a bit odd, as you can see. I am at a loss as to what should happen now, beyond another decline, but I thought you could find it interesting. ChrysGalley (talk) 12:20, 24 December 2025 (UTC)

editHowdy; You had declined two submissions made by the author of this draft: Draft:Neel Nayak — I believe the author may be Nayak themselves, and have asked for clarification on their "disclosed" COI (they vaguely assert they have a COI on their User page) over on their Talk page. Further, I believe this user is extensively utilizing an LLM to write these articles, at least the Nayak article and their User page. The other two are too short to judge. Anyways, I wanted to to let you know in case you see more of their submissions. Cheers - MWFwiki (talk) 12:06, 26 December 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for letting me know. It is pretty clear the Nayak draft is AI-generated. I'll let you know if I review any more drafts that are AI-generated or promotional. 🌀Hurricane Wind and Fire (talk) (contribs)🔥 15:25, 26 December 2025 (UTC)
Magnetoglobus. multicellularis
editHello, I understand completely why my article was declined, as this as one of my first attempts at a serious contribution to Wikipedia. My only concern is that my laptop shut down while I was in editor mode 2 hours ago, and when it came back online, an updated version of my article seemed to have disappeared, as I had written a few more paragraphs about such as one titles "motility". I understand that I cannot publish my article, and with good and fair reason. But I would still like to download a copy of my draft for personal use, and now my most recent draft is gone.
Thank you in advance, from CuniformCuniform CuniformCuniform (talk) 21:50, 27 December 2025 (UTC)
- @CuniformCuniform on the Tools bar (which should be on your sidebar or top of your screen near the "Edit" or "Edit source" button is), in the Print/export section, there is an option to download your draft as a PDF.
- Changes are not published until you press the blue "Publish changes" button, so unfortunately, if something like this happens again, your changes won't be saved.
- One tip, though: Once you come to a point during a major edit where you have to stop editing for some reason, copy and paste the wikitext with your changes into a Word document and save. This has saved me before, I hope it does the same for you.
- If you would like clarification or have more questions, please ask me. 🌀Hurricane Wind and Fire (talk) (contribs)🔥 21:57, 27 December 2025 (UTC)

Still Editing...
editHey, I just want to let you know that I am back in the mood to edit wildfire pages again. I haven't really been to active as of late due to me getting burned out from school (bullying, tests, etc.). Of course, the whole "AI" thing has gotten passed me. I used AI to assist me on ~50 edits or so from August 2025 - October 2025. You may have seen that I created the 2026 Oklahoma wildfires page. I can't wait to make more. I just finished creating my Guestbook. You can be my first signature! CostalCal (talk) 07:31, 20 January 2026 (UTC)
- It's good you're coming back! I was getting worried I had made you upset and was the reason you had lowered your activity. Sorry about what is happening in school, I hope it gets better. Again, I'm happy you're coming back! 🌀Hurricane Wind and Fire (talk) (contribs)🔥 14:21, 20 January 2026 (UTC)
