Taxoboxes
editHi, getting taxoboxes right isn't straightforward when you begin editing. Have a look at Rhomphaiodon now I've fixed the taxobox. Some points in using {{Automatic taxobox}}:
|name=is only needed when the title of the article isn't the taxon (e.g. it's a vernacular name)|taxon=should always be present to specify the target of the taxobox{{Italic title}}is supplied automatically when the taxobox is set up correctly.
I'm happy to try to answer any questions you may have – leave a message at my talk page. Peter coxhead (talk) 21:18, 29 December 2023 (UTC)

editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detectedthat when you recently edited Leptopleuron, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Elgin. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hello, I'm ThaddeusSholto. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Hartshill Castle, but you didn't provide a reliable source. Football infobox live update
edit
Hello, I'm Mattythewhite. I just wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions were not quite right. Please only update statistics within the infobox of a footballer once the match the player was involved in has concluded. This is to help avoid the stats being updated again by another editor once the match has finished, and to avoid having to undo the update in the eventuality that the match is abandoned.
If you have any questions about this, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Mattythewhite (talk) 20:25, 23 March 2024 (UTC)

Hello Harold9595959, on this article we can read two papers :
- David S. Brown and Nathalie Bardet (1994). Plesiosaurus rugosus Owen, 1840 (currently Eretmosaurus rugosus, Reptilia, Plesiosauria) proposed designation of a neotype. Bulletin of Zoological Nomenclature 51(3);
- David S. Bown and Nathalie Bardet (1996). Plesiosaurus rugosus Owen, 1840 (currently Eretmosaurus rugosus, Reptilia, Plesiosauria) neotype designated. Bulletin of Zoological Nomenclature 51(3)
If we read correctly these two ones was publisched on Bulletin of Zoological Nomenclature 51(3) but the first one is on 1994 and the second one is on 1996 - so there is an error (in fact the first one is correct, but I can't found the second one on the Internet). Maybe you will have an idea. Thanks a lot in advance. Givet (talk) 06:42, 18 October 2024 (UTC) French wikipedia contributor
- I think the 1994 source is suggesting a neotype and the 1996 source might be confirming the designation of said neotype. Harold9595959 (talk) 13:10, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
- OK but they can't be on the same "Bulletin of Zoological Nomenclature 51(3). An idea? Givet (talk) 06:41, 7 November 2024 (UTC)

The references are enough to show that the team existed, and is likely to be notable given the leagues involved and the length of time they were in existence. Perhaps an enthusiast could scan newspapers of the time!

Wikipedia and copyright
edit
Hello Harold9595959! Your additions to Gemma Hillier have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, it's important to understand and adhere to guidelines about using information from sources to prevent copyright and plagiarism issues. Here are the key points:
- Limited quotation: You may only copy or translate a small portion of a source. Any direct quotations must be enclosed in double quotation marks (") and properly cited using an inline citation. More information is available on the non-free content page. To learn how to cite a source, see Help:Referencing for beginners.
- Paraphrasing: Beyond limited quotations, you are required to put all information in your own words. Following the source's wording too closely can lead to copyright issues and is not permitted; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when paraphrasing, you must still cite your sources as appropriate.
- Image use guidelines: In most scenarios, only freely licensed or public domain images may be used and these should be uploaded to our sister project, Wikimedia Commons. In some scenarios, non-freely copyrighted content can be used if they meet all ten of our non-free content criteria; Wikipedia:Plain and simple non-free content guide may help with determining a file's eligibility.
- Copyrighted material donation: If you hold the copyright to the content you want to copy, or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license the text for publication here. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Copying and translation within Wikipedia: Wikipedia articles can be copied or translated, however they must have proper attribution in accordance with Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. For translation, see Help:Translation § License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked from editing. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. The article Ahmed El Mokhtar has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Local player in the Mauritanian league sourced to Flashscore and X. Independent sourcing is needed to meet WP:GNG or WP:SPORTBASIC.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Speedy deletion nomination of Albert Cooksey
edit
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Albert Cooksey requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Onel5969 TT me 11:03, 11 July 2025 (UTC)

Re this edit, the FootballWebPages source shows him making another three appearances for Ascot after the end of December, so not sure why you changed the total from 322 to 324 and not 325? Cheers, Number 57 20:53, 11 May 2026 (UTC)

Links to draft articles
edit
Please do not introduce links to draft articles in actual articles, as you did to 2015 Greenlandic Football Championship. Since a draft is not yet ready for the main article space, it is not in shape for ordinary readers, and links from articles should not go to a draft. Such links are contrary to the Manual of Style. These links have been removed. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 10:26, 16 May 2026 (UTC)
Bakhtiyar Aldashev moved to draftspace
editThanks for your contributions to Bakhtiyar Aldashev. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing as a live article at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted it to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. JTtheOG (talk) 06:57, 17 May 2026 (UTC)

Algeria vs Bolivia
edithello, i want to tell you that algeria vs bolivia in Algerian national team wiki is 10 June 2026, and not 11 June 2026 the reason because timezones: when the match started, it was 10 June 2026 in united states in the stadium that they was playing at, but in algeria it was 11 June 2026, and in the match info we used UTC-5 means it will be 10 June 2026 PoopSocks12 (talk) 22:44, 12 June 2026 (UTC)

Released players
editIn the English system, contracts end on 30 June (so players leave clubs on that date) and begin on 1 July (so players join new clubs on that date). Please wait until those dates before editing. GiantSnowman 08:53, 13 June 2026 (UTC)
Standard layout and formatting of career statistics tables
editHi Harold9595959. Thanks for adding the statistics tables at René Higuita. Going forward, please use the standard layout and formatting for career statistics tables as outlined at Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Players which is the result of past discussions of the community of football editors at Wikipedia:WikiProject Football. Specifically,
- there should be no "Cap" column,
- there should be no bold formatting in the scores.
