Hello, I'm Tacyarg. An edit that you recently made to Keith Dowding seemed to be generated using a large language model (an "AI chatbot" or other application using such technology). Text produced by these applications can be unsuitable for an encyclopedia, and output must be carefully checked. Your edit may have been reverted. Deletion discussion about Genesis (Dev novel)
editHello GuyLuck, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Genesis (Dev novel), should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Genesis (Dev novel).
Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Significa liberdade}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Managing a conflict of interest
edit
Hello, GuyLuck. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template), including links or details of reliable sources that support your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Some of the edits have been very promotional in tone. If you have been paid or otherwise asked to edit on behalf of another, you must disclose this. ReaderofthePack(formerly Tokyogirl79) (。◕‿◕。) 13:38, 6 March 2025 (UTC)
Tone, other notes
editPlease be careful of tone. Content must be written in a neutral point of view. Some of your content has marketing WP:BUZZWORDS and sounds promotional. For example, you can't say that an event was memorable because that's an opinion. So saying "it was a memorable evening" violates the WP:NPOV guidelines.
You also cannot come to your own conclusions. We can only summarize what has been explicitly stated in reliable sources - which absolutely must be in the article. So for example, you made the conclusion that his university contributed to his skills. While that's extremely likely, stating that is still original research. The only time you could include something like that is if he were to make a comment about the school being influential on him.
Then there's sourcing. Everything must be backed up by a reliable source. There are roughly two types of sourcing that can be used in an article: WP:PRIMARY and non-primary sources. Per Wikipedia's definition, a primary sources "are original materials that are close to an event, and are often accounts written by people who are directly involved." So for example, if the New York Times wrote about one of its journalists, that would be a primary source - however if the Washington Post wrote about the journalist, it would not be primary since the journalist has never worked for them.
Now, not every source can establish notability and some shouldn't be used as a source at all. Reviews can count towards notability, but only if they're published in a reputable, independent, secondary source, like a newspaper. Reviews on a merchant website like Amazon or a place like Goodreads that accepts reviews from anyone would not be considered a reliable source. As it's assumed that books will receive reviews on places like this, reviews on these outlets are irrelevant to Wikipedia. Be extremely careful of any self-published source like a blog - most are not useable for notability purposes because anyone can publish a blog. The blog's popularity doesn't count towards it being reliable - what's needed is proof that other reliable sources see it as reliable - especially academic and scholarly sources, as they tend to be pretty picky on what they use. Merchant sources are heavily discouraged from use on an article. In most cases it's only usable to back up basic claims, which can often be done by other, less controversial sources. In worst case scenarios there have been cases of people using it to try and steer readers to purchase an item, but that isn't necessarily always why it was added.
Finally, please do not mark an edit as minor (WP:ME) if it is not minor. Minor edits are considered to be things like fixing spelling or grammatical errors in an article. Adding new content to an article is not a minor edit. It's only meant to be used for cases where you're making superficial edits to the article, where you're neither adding nor removing any content. Even then, if you are doing major rearranging it's better to not mark it as a minor edit. From what I can see, many of your minor edits are not minor. Please stop marking the edits as minor.
I heavily recommend that you review Wikipedia's guidelines for editing. If you do have a conflict of interest, then it's extremely important that you follow guidelines. It's also heavily recommended that you not edit directly on any topic where you have a conflict of interest. If you want to create articles with a conflict of interest, you should only create them via AfC and never try to move them live yourself.
