Trouted
edit
Whack!
You've been whacked with a wet trout.
Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know that you did something silly. You have been trouted for: using a wildly out of date and never particularly accepted transliteration system here []—blindlynx 01:27, 9 January 2026 (UTC)
- (thank you for fixing the ref though!)—blindlynx 01:28, 9 January 2026 (UTC)
- @Blindlynx: To be fair I was using the automatic citation button when I made that edit, so this is probably a citoid or zotero problem. Duckmather (talk) 00:02, 10 January 2026 (UTC)
- Fair enough! Every so often an edit warrior comes along and insist on some variation of that translit so I thought you just unknowingly going off of one of those edits—blindlynx 00:18, 10 January 2026 (UTC)

Your "Madagascar" article edit
edit@Duckmather, I undid your revision of the "Madagascar" article because I had earlier placed a Guild of Copy Editors in Use notification at the top of it, as GOCE editors do when we're engaged in a requested copy edit of articles. The notification should help prevent exactly what happened in your case: that another editor comes along and makes an edit. It's really disruptive for us as we work on these requests.
Please wait till you no longer see the notification any more, then go ahead with any edits you'd like to make, including the one I undid. Augnablik (talk) 09:54, 26 January 2026 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Quentin Deranque.jpg
edit
A tag has been placed on File:Quentin Deranque.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file from a commercial source (e.g. Associated Press, Getty Images), where the file itself is not the subject of sourced commentary. If you can explain why the file can be used under the non-free content guidelines, please add the appropriate non-free use tag and rationale.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:58, 27 February 2026 (UTC)

A trout from the Inland Northwest!
editWhack!
You've been whacked with a wet trout.
Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know that you did something silly.I'm not sure that redirecting KHQ to Cowles Company#KHQ, Incorporated was the right call, and I'd like to ask you to reconsider. There were still 22 links to the redirect in article space, and 21 of them were wanting KHQ-TV. (The 22nd wanted a radio station that used to be KHQ and to which the Cowles article does not even link, somehow.) I had to fix all of them to preserve the correct target. The primary topic for KHQ isn't the company division, it's the television station that it takes its name from. Since I see you're doing work on three-letter broadcasting call sign disambiguations, feel free to contact me if you have questions. Sammi Brie (she/her · t · c) 06:45, 18 April 2026 (UTC)
Disambiguation pages
editHi, I have a suggestion. Maybe when you create disambiguation pages for places not solely in China, it might be helpful to not put it in Chinese, as it might give the impression that the schools in other countries are Chinese schools or similar. Disambiguation link notification for May 3
editAn automated process has detected that when you recently edited Wilmington, Vermont, a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bullhead was added.
(Opt-out instructions.) --DPL bot (talk) 06:02, 3 May 2026 (UTC)
An article you recently created, Pegin, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Note on deadnaming
editPer MOS:DEADNAME, In source citations, do not remove names of authors or references to former names in titles of works
.
I ended up mooting the issue anyway by realizing that every single place in which Brooke Vibber was being cited was inappropriate use of primary sources to make a navel-gazing claim and removing it, but you should note for the future. * Pppery * in solidarity 23:56, 27 May 2026 (UTC)
