editHi, I've noticed your edit summaries in the Finnish Civil War article, and it seems you've identified some issues in the article. A suggestion: It would be easier to address or discuss those if you opened a thread on the talk page and explained the problem in more detail than what you can do in an edit summary. But if the issue is just that more citations are needed, not that anything is wrong, then nevermind, it's not necessary. Jähmefyysikko (talk) 03:01, 28 November 2025 (UTC)
Hi there, sorry forgot this. Well, referring to high amount of Finnish communism prior to the 1918 War is more or less historical Anachronism. The horrible, bloody and traumatic war led to radicalisation of both left and right - some Finns became communists and some became fascists. The groups aimed to marginilize and/or destroy their far left or far right opponents, without democracy. The Finnish children, women and men were saved from another dark hour after 1918 by the wise, moderate, silent majority of the Finns.
Sorry, but let me tell you: in early 1930s, the former, Finland's best president, social liberal K.J. Ståhlberg and his wife Ester were captured by the Finnish fascists with the aim to transport them to Soviet Russia for the couples death and murder. The operation failed and when the Ståhlbergs returned to Helsinki by train there was a large group of moderate Finns waiting for them with songs, aplodes and hiphiphurrais. This failed fascist operation was the prime mover for the final defeat of the far right movement in Finland. In WWII 1941-1944 quite many Russian prisoners of war in Finland were sent to farms to work for the woman and children trying to take care of things while the husbands and fathers were in fighting the war. The Russian men were silent, hard workers, thankfull for food and save place to stay. They were mostly treated well by the decent Finns, without racisim. After the war Joseph Stalin demanded the return of the prisoners for hard punishment as they had led down Russia by surrending in the Great Patriotic Battle. I do not know the exact numbers, but quite many prisoners were saved by the Finnish farmers by assisting the prisoners to escape to Sweden. Even some local police Sheriffs took risk for loosing their job and to imprisonment by helping the Russian boys to Sweden. This is the way how the great, decent majority of the Finns act. Yet, if the violent, horrible people from the West, East, South or North seriously try to harm our children and women they will face the Finnish Hell Fire. DMWFPWS (talk) 06:26, 13 January 2026 (UTC)
