Hello. I am AstronomyKid1, and I like Dungeons and Dragons, Minecraft, and Astronomy, and I noticed that you also play Dungeons and Dragons! I'm very happy to see more D&D "nerds" on this website. If you don't mind me asking you this, do you have a character, and if so, what class and race is it? If not, what is your favorite part about D&D?

AstronomyKid1 (talk) 17:55, 20 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

@AstronomyKid1 I don't mind at all, though I'm sure if you look around you'll find plenty of people interested in D&D. In fact, there's a WikiProject dedicated to it.
I've only played in one campaign, which was ran by my sister, but it was incredibly fun. My character was a Goliath rogue named Kragak Kinless Thunukugoni. He was an exile and, to be honest, a complete misnomer; a rogue with more strength than dex, though he became incredibly useful as a tank/DPS sort of character.
I also made another character, Snorti, a Kobold ranger, just never got to use him unfortunately. CommissarDoggoTalk? 18:05, 20 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
Interesting! I was planning on using a Goliath for my friend's campaign outside of school (yes, I am still in school, but I will graduate next year). My friend in my school's campaign is a Kobold artificer named Weebsly Hollow. Anyway, my character is a Half-Orc blood hunter named Sutha Galadora. Her appearance is strange, she looks more human than orc. She is unnaturally tall, at around seven foot two. She had long flowing black hair that almost touches the floor, and her eyes glow crimson when she invokes her powers. She has quite a bit of lore, however. I am tempted to cite her whole backstory, though I will wait for a response from you first. A little fun fact about Sutha is that she is actually canonically lesbian (due to my school's previous campaign last year).
I rarely get to talk to someone new about D&D, so this is quite a treat :).

Help needed: Latvian A12 is NOT motorway, despite A-number

edit

Hello CommissarDoggo! Can I please ask for your help? Some years ago, we have worked together on a page about the 2023 Stunungsund landslide. Now I have bumped into a correction task that unregistered users cannot perform without triggering all sorts of alarm bells at Wikipedia. I suppose that I do not need to explain to you what a motorway looks like. Internationals tend to mix up words like highway and motorway. Then take American English and confusion is never far away. Also, taking into account that A-numbers are used almost only for motorways in most countries in western Europe, confusion is understandable. But if I remember correctly, you are from Britain, where A-numbers are also used for many primary roads, just like in Latvia. I'll make this quick, by using copy-paste:

Latvian A12 is not motorway, but Wikimedia files correction attempt under abuse

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Road_signs_in_Latvia

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Latvia_road_sign_741_(Motorway).svg

https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Commons:Abuse_filter/Error_reporting&withJS=MediaWiki:ABFeasySubmit.js

File:Latvia road sign 741 (Motorway).svg

Trying to add English caption "Latvian primary road number 12 - NOT motorway"

Trying to explain that A12 is Latvian primary road - File on Wikimedia Commons has wrong name – Confusingly, A-numbers are almost only motorways in many countries in western Europe, but not in Latvia - Please check definition of Motorway and errors in article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Road_signs_in_Latvia that are difficult to correct when underlying file has misleading name - Motorway has 2x2 lanes, hard shoulders, non-level-crossings with bridges and junctions, and so on - Latvian A12 does not match motorway standards at all! As far as I know European motorway sign is not (yet) in use in Latvia as they have just started to build dual carriageways below motorway standards.

Your submission at Articles for creation: Heidi Curtis (May 23)

edit
Draft declined
Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. Your draft submission to Articles for creation has been reviewed but not accepted at this time.
Feedback
The reviewer, Meadowlark, left the following feedback:
This draft's references do not show that the person meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion for people. The draft requires multiple published secondary sources that:
  • provide significant coverage: discuss the person in detail, not brief mentions or interviews lacking independent analysis;
  • are reliable: from reputable outlets with editorial oversight;
  • are independent: not connected to the person, such as interviews, press releases, the subject's own website, or sponsored content.
Please add references that meet all three of these criteria. If none exist, the subject is not yet suitable for Wikipedia.
This draft does not demonstrate that your subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article. Please see WP:42 for more information on what kind of sources you need to present. At least three sources that meet all three criteria in WP:42 are generally required. In particular, interviews with or sources written by the subject (or their friends, family, colleagues, etc) are not considered independent. All your more in-depth sources are based around interviews with Curtis, while the rest are mostly passing mentions or appear to be press releases. If you can swap out the Instagram sources for independent sources, that would also be an improvement. It feels like it may be WP:TOOSOON for an article on Curtis at the moment.

Next steps

  • Edit Draft:Heidi Curtis to address the points above, making sure to publish any changes.
  • When you are ready to resubmit your draft for review, click the Resubmit button.
  • If you do not edit your draft in the next 6 months, it may be deleted.

@Meadowlark About what I expected to see, hence submitting it through AFC rather than just posting it straight to main. She'll be playing at a hell of a lot of events this year, including one today, so with any luck the article will be ready to properly publish by the end of the year. Thanks for taking the time.
