Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

Request reason:

I am writing to appeal my block from editing Wikipedia. I understand that the block was issued on the grounds of alleged use of multiple accounts, but I respectfully believe this is a misunderstanding. I saw the user JamesArther84 repeatedly vandalizing multiple articles and items on Wikidata, I undid their edits and then they edited my own user page to harass me, so I reported the issue through the appropriate channels. During that report thread, that user began making personal attacks and threats, which led to their own block. Following this, I was blocked for allegedly using multiple accounts. However, I have never engaged in WP:SOCK. The account that has been identified as mine has never interacted with the report thread, nor has it defended me or supported any of my edits. I am confident that an internal check would show that this account was not accessed from the same device as mine. (I have added more details about it on the ticket appeal that’s not public) I have never vandalized Wikipedia, and I have always strived to make constructive contributions to the encyclopedia. I am familiar with the community guidelines and have always respected them. It feels unjust that I am being blocked simply for raising an issue about vandalism and seeking administrative assistance. I believe that this block is not necessary to prevent damage to Wikipedia. I assure you that this situation will not occur again, as the issue has already been resolved. If that user resumes vandalism, I trust that another editor will step in to address it appropriately. I respectfully request that this block be reconsidered and that I be unblocked. Thank you for reading. Coinhote (talk) 20:11, 4 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

There was no misunderstanding; you were blocked based on CheckUser evidence, which is an internal check. - The Bushranger One ping only 21:02, 4 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I am writing to respectfully appeal the block placed on my account. I understand that the block may be related to account-sharing concerns or IP address overlap, but If the block is due to using the same WiFi connection, I have already explained the situation in a previous (non-public) appeal.

After reading the guidelines at WP:CHECK, I understand that blocks should be based on evidence of malicious or forbidden reasons, as well as to protect Wikipedia against disruptive or abusive behavior. I would appreciate it if you could point out any such behavior that I (or the other account) might have engaged in. Because as I said, I have never engaged in WP:SOCK, I have always made constructive and properly sourced edits to articles.

I'm not the type of user that if given another chance, I could vandalize Wikipedia. No! I would continue to contribute positively and will abide by Wikipedia’s guidelines and policies. I am eager to resolve any misunderstanding and ensure that my account remains in good standing.

I have learned my lesson, so please see that I'm trying to honest and fair. Thank you for your time and understanding. Coinhote (talk) 00:24, 5 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

On balance of evidence, I think you have engaged in abuse of multiple accounts. PhilKnight (talk) 03:57, 5 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

No, I didn’t abuse. What evidence? I only reported a user who vandalized Wikipedia and edited my own user page to harass me, so this user started to make personal attacks and accused me of WP:SOCK when the other account is not even mine and has never interacted with me here on Wikipedia. Please see what I wrote before this new appeal. The only reason for the block was because apparently the other account used the same Wi-fi connection as me. Your edit: . Atisnakebite's edit: . Also, they appeared to support you on JamesArther84's talk page, using very similar verbiage as you: . Another account that used the same Wi-fi connection as me, editing the same subjects as you, supporting you in disputes, and confirmed by CheckUser as you, is not going to be believed as not being you. - The Bushranger One ping only 21:24, 5 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
If you really checked then you could pretty tell it wasn’t the same device. And that was the only interaction right? on the WP:CHECK page says that the user should be blocked if they commit something forbidden, what was it? We were both right, that user vandalized Wikipedia. I added information on the appeal that’s not public about it. I'm 100% sure and I swear to you that I did not login into another account on my phone to argue about that, it wasn’t necessary and the comment wasn’t defending me, any editor could see that I was right. Coinhote (talk) 22:57, 5 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
I'm kindly requesting this account to be unblocked because I don’t want to create another one if I see something that needs to be edited in the future. I never vandalized Wikipedia and I have this account for months. I love the word “Coinhote” and that’s my username, I am being 100% honest with you here. I'm being blocked for multiple accounts but that doesn’t make sense because if I see the need to edit Wikipedia again without exposing my IP I will need to create a new account and I don’t want to. Coinhote (talk) 23:08, 5 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
...you do realise you're saying "unblock me or I'll evade my block", right? Which either making a new account or editing using an IP would be. As long as you are blocked you cannot create a new account or edit Wikipedia using an IP. And you were not blocked for being right or wrong about accusing another editor of vandalism. You were blocked for using multiple accounts, which any reasonable person can see, and which CheckUser confirmed. If you want to be unblocked, you can edit a different Wikimedia project (Commons, another language's Wikipedia, Wikiquote, etc.) for six months, establishing your good conduct and your lack of sockpuppetry, and then request unblock here via the Standard Offer. If you evade your block though, either through making a new account or editing logged out, then that resets the clock. - The Bushranger One ping only 08:26, 6 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
