HitPay moved to draftspace

edit

Thanks for your contributions to HitPay. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing as a live article at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and it is promotional and reads like an advertisement. I have converted it to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Erakilos (talk) 12:51, 13 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi Erakilos! Thank you for letting me know how I can improve, I am trying to mirror it like the other Payments, I want to add the Payments for APAC in the article as most are from the US/EUR side! :D Will improve and resubmit! Cavemandraws (talk) 03:38, 14 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
Hi Erakilos! I've tried to mimic other pages, here's the re-draft - Draft:HitPay I don't want to move the page back yet as I wanted you to check it first and give me feedback :) Cavemandraws (talk) 08:40, 23 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
Hey @Cavemandraws! I went through the draft and overall it looks solid. It just needs a bit of polishing for encyclopedic tone, especially making the lead slightly more neutral, streamlining the more list-like sections and balancing a few claims that rely mainly on primary sources (Tip: add a few more secondary sources). Otherwise, it’s in good shape imo and likely near AfC acceptance. – Erakilos (talk) 08:55, 23 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
Yaay thank you! I've added more secondary resources and removed the primary ones! Is this better? Cavemandraws (talk) 06:22, 27 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
hello i tried to add it and then it got moved to speedy deletion :( Cavemandraws (talk) 07:23, 11 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Recent edit reversion

edit

In this edit here, I reverted some information that appears to be a violation of our copyright policy.

I provided a brief summary of the problem in the edit summary, which should be visible just below my name. You can also click on the "view history" tab in the article to see the recent history of the article. This should be an edit with my name, and a parenthetical comment explaining why your edit was reverted. If that information is not sufficient to explain the situation, please ask.

I do occasionally make mistakes. We get hundreds of reports of potential copyright violations every week, and sometimes there are false positives, for a variety of reasons. (Perhaps the material was moved from another Wikipedia article, or the material was properly licensed but the license information was not obvious, or the material is in the public domain but I didn't realize it was public domain, and there can be other situations generating a report to our Copy Patrol tool that turn out not to be actual copyright violations.) If you think my edit was mistaken, please politely let me know and I will investigate. S Philbrick(Talk) 11:19, 15 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi Sphilbrick! I wanted to mention that I am from the Philippines and in the Philippines, government works and published projects are public domain under the Philippine law and can be cited without copyright. (Under the Philippine Intellectual Property Code). I have read through the projects that he (Albee) has made and tried my best to not make it a direct lift and be most objective on the items listed. However, if you think it is better to keep the current and the items listed are not as relevant, I am ok with the removal too. (I just saw him from extend the article suggestion from wikipedia). Speedy deletion nomination of HitPay

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on HitPay requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, as it exhibits signs of having been generated by an AI model with no clear human review. Text produced by these applications is prohibited on Wikipedia. For further information, see section G15 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think these signs were incorrectly identified and you assert that you did carefully check the content, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Additionally – if you would like to create an article but find it difficult, please ask for help at the Teahouse. guninvalid (talk) 05:53, 11 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Additional rationale: History and funding sections are entirely unnecessary and rote coverage. One of the lines (the one about the API launch) is literally just the headline of the article. Markdown tildas left at the bottom. guninvalid (talk) 05:52, 11 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
I copied the sections similar to payments space like Stripe, Inc. :(( Cavemandraws (talk) 06:53, 11 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

It was already deleted so I cannot find the reversion.. I wrote the old one and it took a really long time to research and write about it. I tried to polish with AI because every feedback was telling me that it needs 'polishing'. So sad. But thank you for letting me know. Cavemandraws (talk) 16:58, 11 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

tried to polish with AI because every feedback

That means that you didn't write it yourself (anymore). Whatever you asked the AI to do, it did much more than just polish your text. What people here mean when they say that you need to "polish" your draft is that you need to work on it a little bit more. What they don't mean is "ask an AI to do it for you", they mean that they want you to go and spend some more time on your writing. Please don't use AI on Wikipedia. It is not a good idea. --Gurkubondinn 17:52, 11 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I understand now and I'm sorry. I will work on that. Thank you for the clarity. Cavemandraws (talk) 23:54, 11 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Hello, I am back hehe. I wrote it on my draft again. If you have the time, could you please let me know what I can work on to improve or if this is okay already? I've removed a lot of items on the structure coming from the feedback of the ones before. (even if I strongly feel that it was necessary given that it's how other pages were structured, e.g. History). Draft:HitPay Cavemandraws (talk) 00:16, 12 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Hey there, @Cavemandraws! I generally don't give multiple AfC reviews to a draft (it is kind of frowned upon), but I can take a look and let you know what I think (you'd just have to wait for someone else to do the actual AfC review). I won't have time until tomorrow though.
That being said, I am going to WP:AGF and say thank you for listening to my concerns. AI-generated articles, drafts and edits are a huge problem on Wikipedia right now, and I am glad that you listened to me. It really matters. --Gurkubondinn 00:22, 12 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Oh it's okay! If it is frowned upon please don't do it. I will put it on AfC then. Thank you! Cavemandraws (talk) 00:24, 12 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
I'm still happy to look at it and tell you what I think. It's just that in general, I try to not "formally" decline or approve any draft more than once (do an AfC review), but I have nothing against just telling you what I think about your draft or helping you. --Gurkubondinn 00:34, 12 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Feedback
The reviewer, Flyingphoenixchips, left the following feedback:
This draft's references do not show that the subject meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion for organizations and companies. The draft requires multiple published secondary sources that:
  • provide significant coverage: discuss the subject in detail, excluding routine coverage like product launches, staff appointments, or financial reports and listings in databases or listicles;
  • are reliable: from reputable outlets with editorial oversight;
  • are independent: not connected to the subject, such as press releases, the subject's own website, or sponsored content.
Please add references that meet all three of these criteria. If none exist, the subject is not yet suitable for Wikipedia.
The MAS licensing page and Y Combinator listing are useful for verification but don't establish notability. Per Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies), a fintech company needs multiple independent sources providing significant coverage of the company itself. If TechCrunch, Tech in Asia, or similar publications have written a proper profile or funding story focused on HitPay, please add those and resubmit.

Beyond the TechCrunch profile and Tech in Asia Series A story, everything available is trade press product announcements, the company's own blog, and database listings. Funding announcements are explicitly excluded under WP:SIRS as routine coverage. No substantive independent analysis of HitPay as a company exists in searchable sources. Hello Flyingphoenixchips, I admit I need help. I thought TechCrunch and TechInAsia are good enough citations.
These are the inspirations behind how I wrote the article - Stripe, Inc. PayNow 2C2P Adyen QR Ph Blik JazzCash Nexgo (and other payments on that list). I have successfully published GrabPay Wallet PayLah and I want to publish other wallets and payments (Fiuu, Viet QR, Sakuku, etc) in the APAC region that I think are dominant/common payment methods.
Given that this is how majority of people in the APAC have been using payments, I think they are notable enough. However, If you think that these should not be added to the list. Please let me know and I will stop. Cavemandraws (talk) 01:35, 13 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
