Note on notability

Hi,

You just added a notability tag to this article. Just to be clear, there's a GScholar link at the bottom of the page which shows adequate citations with respect to the field. See for instance WP:PROF #1. Xpander (talk) 22:32, 5 October 2025 (UTC)

Hi, could you help me understand the part of that GScholar like that justifies the notability? I also noticed WP:PROF that mentions some cautions of using GScholar. I just think the article itself is extremely brief (he's a prof, he has a PhD, he teaches at a university). So do many thousands of other profs. I would expect the article to provide more details on how his work made an impact. But I'm relatively new to the New Page Patrol space so feel free to correct me if you have other thoughts. Woodshed Smokehouse

Hey, I noticed you put a notability tag back on Woodshed Smokehouse after I removed it. Would you mind elaborating on why you don't think it meets the general notability guideline? AllWeKnowOfHeaven (talk) 17:19, 7 October 2025 (UTC)

Hi, it seems like the article just describes what the restaurant does and what kinds of food it has and its locations, which doesn't justify notability, as you can say the same for hundreds of thousands of other restaurants that don't have articles. I do notice there's a reference to Tim Love but even that article has some issues. But I'm also relatively new to the New Page Patrol space so feel free to correct me if you could point to a specific statement in WP:GNG that makes it justify notability. You aren't a new page patroller...Also notability is based on sources not the content of the article. I'll be removing the tag now, feel to nominate for deletion if you're still unsure. AllWeKnowOfHeaven (talk) 20:49, 8 October 2025 (UTC)
