Creating pages in userspace

edit

Hello there! Please do not create pages using the "User-template" prefix since that namespace does not exist (and this causes them to erroneously appear in mainspace). Always make sure to only use the "User:" prefix when creating pages in userspace. Thanks! CycloneYoris talk! 09:19, 26 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello, 0x16w,

Please only post the N language userboxes if you have fluency in that language. Otherwise, it defeats the whole purpose of having the Babel userboxes which is to help other editors find people who can help them with translations. You can't have dozens of languages as your native language. Some of the lanuages you have userboxes for are archaic languages that only a scholar would have familiarity with.

Please do not post these userboxes just because you can or to have a page filled with userboxes. That's fine with some userboxes, like if you have traveled a lot or are a fan of a lot of TV series. But don't do this with lanuage userboxes or userboxes that indicate a level of academic, professional or editorial achievement if they are not accurate and true. If you have questions, please bring them to the Teahouse. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 21:46, 29 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your contributions to Partula taeniata nucleola. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources, it needs more sources to establish notability and subspecies are not inherently notable. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. C F A 💬 16:35, 27 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia research

edit
Hello I'm a student from LUISS university in Rome and I'm working on a presentation based on wikipedia's crowdsourcing process and one part of the work is to put myself in the shoes of a wikipedia contributor and find out some feeling he receives when editing or writing pages. The questions I would like to receive answers on are the following:
  1. What does the editor think and feel:
  2. What does the editor say and do:
  3. What does the editor hear and see (about its surroundings):
  4. What are his pains (what type of frustration does the user feel when contributing):
  5. What are his gains (what does make him feel good when contributing):
Active support is really needed so thanks in advance and have a great day

Tartaluca (talk) 19:04, 11 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

1. What I Think and Feel is that the pages I mostly edit (e.g. Partula (gastropod)) are EXTREMELY lacking in information and need more info (I consistently fail at adding info though, I end up thinking of other stuff I want to do and do those instead LOL)
2. What I Do is I look for facts from credible sources and add them into the page.
3. What I Hear and See isn't much, I don't hear anything, and I see just what the page looks like before and after my edits, and I can see if my edits were good edits that improved the page or not. (I revert extremely bad edits, mostly those that break templates)
4. My pains are failing to add info I know I read somewhere just because I can't find the source anymore 😭
5. My gains are seeing new info added to the page that would be helpful for readers.
