Information icon Hi 0ctopusKn1ght! I noticed that you recently made an edit at McDonald's and marked it as "minor", but it may not have been. "Minor edit" has a specific definition on Wikipedia: it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. Grayfell (talk) 21:57, 17 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

I understand, thank you very much for making this clear to me. 0ctopusKn1ght (talk) 22:07, 17 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:Black Bear Diner logo.webp

edit
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Black Bear Diner logo.webp. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of non-free use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --Min☠︎rax«¦talk¦» 15:23, 3 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

I have now seen that you reuploaded the image as an almost identical .png file, replacing the .webp version. Because of this, I have no reason to keep the .webp file on Wikipedia, in accordance with the policy. You may delete the .webp before the seven days if needed. If I have caused a problem, my apologies. 0ctopusKn1ght (talk) 19:45, 3 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to First Army (United States), did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. I've reverted your mass change of instances of Fort Cavazos to Fort Hood, as the name change has not taken effect yet, merely an announcement that it is coming; additionally such change is premature as we identify places by their commonly used name in reliable sources (which have not yet reverted back to Fort Hood and will not for some time). In the future, please discuss and gain consensus before making mass changes to large numbers of articles, and take particular care to ensure that the changes are supported by their sources (as did not happen here). SWATJester Shoot Blues, Tell VileRat! 02:43, 12 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

I understand, my apologies for making these changes too quickly. 0ctopusKn1ght (talk) 02:56, 12 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
No worries. I'd expect in around another month, the results will be completed and we'll have updated the article names; possibly sooner if they complete the move faster than they did the last couple of times. SWATJester Shoot Blues, Tell VileRat! 05:18, 12 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Introduction to contentious topics

edit

You have recently edited a page related to post-1992 politics of the United States and closely related people, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Base name changes and URLs

edit

Now that all the page moves are complete, I don't believe there should be anything further preventing you from making additional name-change related edits to update to the new name. The only issue would be, as you hinted at in your edit summary, ensuring that the URLs actually work properly and go to their intended page (we don't want to introduce 404 errors), as well as ensuring that any changes that are part of either a quote, or specifically referring to the 2023-2025 name period remain the same. I appreciate the level of consideration you're giving towards following the appropriate process -- just wanted to ensure that you're not letting that hold you back, as there's unlikely to be any further issues at this point. Happy to answer any questions you may have, if any. SWATJester Shoot Blues, Tell VileRat! 18:53, 17 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Thank you very much for this confirmation, I will keep this in mind when editing. 0ctopusKn1ght (talk) 19:19, 17 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of File:World's Finest Chocolate Logo.jpg

edit
Notice

The file File:World's Finest Chocolate Logo.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unused, superseded by File:World's Finest Chocolate Logo.svg.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Min☠︎rax«¦talk¦» 14:10, 26 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Because the .jpg file was replaced with a .svg version, as I requested at the Graphics Lab, you may delete the .jpg version if needed. My apologies for not being careful when originally making this reply. 0ctopusKn1ght (talk) 23:13, 26 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Your submission at Articles for creation: Power Play (1994 film) (June 27)

edit
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Rambley was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of films). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
iMDB is not a reliable source.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Info box combining

edit

Can you combine the info boxes for the following stadiums:

MLB: Twins, Marlins, D'Backs and Padres(All but Twins because of World Baseball Classic)

NHL: Sharks, Predators, Panthers, Canes(Big time), and Stars

NBA: Rockets, Heat, Suns, Warriors(Big time), and Grizzlies

No NFL cause the Browns are the only ones left. Coreyriffinbeastoperatorblue (talk) 00:10, 22 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for telling me, I will work on this when I can and tell you here when I am done. 0ctopusKn1ght (talk) 03:20, 22 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
I have now combined all the stadiums of the teams you just mentioned above- minus the Twins. My apologies for not reading your request properly before editing Target Field's page; I have undone that edit. Most importantly, I'm sorry for making you wait for two days before making these edits. 0ctopusKn1ght (talk) 20:36, 24 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
I actually wanted the Twins, but I said "All but Twins because of World Baseball Classic" Because the Marlins, Padres and D'Backs were World classic hosting prone, but the Twins were not. I also was debating on the TWolves/Target Center, but I'll do that one myself. Coreyriffinbeastoperatorblue (talk) 01:45, 1 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
