Cobbler's Children Syndrome CCS is a reference to a phenomenon where shoemakers's children are often the worst shod or his children go barefoot.[1] This phrase comes from a Spanish story of a cobbler who was so pre-occupied in making shoes for his customers that he fails to notice that his own children's footgear needs.[2] This phrase is often used to describe a situation where a person is so consumed with helping others, that they neglect their own needs or responsibilities. Or a tendency to neglect those who are immediately around you.[3]. The phenomena of CCS is also visible in the workplace.[4]
