The Alabama Hockey M3 team, also known as Frozen Tide Hockey, is the men’s club ice hockey program representing the University of Alabama at the AAU/ACCHL Division III level of collegiate hockey. The program operates under the broader Alabama Hockey organization, which also fields ACHA Division I and Division II teams. The M3 team competes primarily in the American Collegiate Hockey League (ACCHL) under the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) college hockey structure.

History
Ice hockey at the University of Alabama began in 2005 when a group of students founded the Alabama Hockey Club. The original program competed at the ACHA Division III level and became a founding member of the Southeastern Collegiate Hockey Conference (SECHC).

The M3 team was created to provide more opportunities for collegiate players to compete while continuing the growth of hockey in the southeastern United States.
