Can you please delete this template? It is currently blanked. Interstellarity (talk) 15:56, 29 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

 Not done: Sometimes it is blanked. That's pretty normal. Izno (talk) 16:13, 29 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

This template, which creates a banner on the Main Page for special occasions like the 20th anniversary, ought to have some documentation. Could you please add the following?

<noinclude>
{{documentation}}
</noinclude>

 Done but I kept it all on 1 line, nervous about line breaks! — xaosflux Talk 01:25, 23 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Could someone please bring back the documentation removed in Special:Diff/1292925098? —andrybak (talk) 21:49, 29 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

Please restore the documentation, which appears to have been accidentally deleted. – Jonesey95 (talk) 01:34, 30 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

remove the milestone message

edit

Description of suggested change:

The Wikipedia:Seven million articles milestone message has been up for 13 days now and it's getting stale--I think it's time to remove it from the main page. (pinging Gonzo fan2007 who added the message.) Some1 (talk) 23:38, 11 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Fun fact, only ~0.12% of the Main Page visitors actually click on "Learn how you can take part" link. Some1 (talk) 03:05, 12 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
It had a good run, worthy milestone to celebrate - especially with the logo proposal going off the rails (mostly for being too late). — xaosflux Talk 14:01, 12 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Starting at 00:00 UTC, let's add this banner:

The English-language Wikipedia is celebrating its 25th birthday! Learn how you can take part in the encyclop(a)edia's continued improvement.

2600 etc (talk) 22:35, 14 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Looks quite neat, although not sure why we would go for "encyclop(a)edia" instead of "encyclopedia" like in our tagline. Chaotic Enby (talk · contribs) 01:19, 15 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
I think they mean to choose either encyclopaedia or encyclopedia. Agree that encyclopedia would be best. ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 01:30, 15 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! In that case this sounds great! Since it's a change on the most visible page, waiting for a little bit more feedback before enacting it. Chaotic Enby (talk · contribs) 01:38, 15 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
Use encyclopedia to match everything else. — xaosflux Talk 02:21, 15 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
There likely will be a central notice coming around again, so keeping this to a one-liner is best for main page. — xaosflux Talk 02:21, 15 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
 Done and feel free to suggest any additional changes! Chaotic Enby (talk · contribs) 02:40, 15 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Please consider clearing the anniversary text or, putting an expiry of February 15, 2026 on the text, as the anniversary text is getting a bit stale.

The anniversary celebration is getting a bit stale, and I think there may be a better way to signal that we are at an important milestone through some subtle change to the "Welcome to Wikipedia" blurb. Aasim (話すはなす) 16:23, 6 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
