Portrait of Marie Salmon
- ... that Marie Salmon (pictured) was condemned to be burned at the stake for a crime she didn't commit, but she narrowly avoided execution by claiming she was pregnant?

The judges did what they had to do by law: they deferred the execution..."

Overall:
Article is new enough, long enough, mostly well source, plagiarism free and neutral. I added several requests for citations within the article with [citation needed] tags, please could these be replaced? Hook is cited and interested; I don't think the image will be clear enough though when it's on the front page. I'd recommend replacing it with her portrait. No QPQ needed as first nomination (well done). Lajmmoore (talk) 17:31, 2 March 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you Lajmmoore! I see the [citation needed] tags you added. I had left those lines without specific citations because they are leading sentences that summarize the paragraphs that follow (which wasnt' the right move, it seems?) So I'm happy to add those citations! As for changing the image, I agree that her portrait (that is used in her info box) is a good alternative! Can I simply edit my DYK entry up top to replace the image & caption directly, or is there another procedure for these types of changes? Chao Garden 🌱 (hi) 20:02, 2 March 2026 (UTC)
- Yes - the 'lead' is just the very top paragraph of an article - before any headings start, the summarises the content lower down. Everything under a heading should be referenced. Easy to be confused. Yes, just alter the nomination above. Lajmmoore (talk) 20:26, 2 March 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you again, Lajmmoore! I edited the article to address your feedback & also updated the image above. Chao Garden 🌱 (hi) 05:59, 3 March 2026 (UTC)
