Not nephew

Under Career subtitle it says: In 1025 he, his nephew Arslan, and his brother Chaghri (Çağrı) served under the Kara-Khanids of Bukhara...

Well it seems there is a confusion of names. Arslan was not Tuğrul's nephew. He was the uncle. To be sure, there was also a nephew named Alp Arslan (the future sultan). But Alp Arslan wasn't around in 1025. (Alparslan's birth date is 1029) Nedim Ardoğa (talk) 13:06, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

Spelling

There is only Persian reading in the article. I do not understand why ? As is known, these are Turkic leaders. Why Persian spelling alone is placed on the head of the article? What is the reason of this ? I removed the persian spelling from the head of the article because it was irrelevant.

Because it has nothing to do with ethnicity. The official and the administrative language of Seljuks was Persian. Look at the source, it is Rahat al-sudur, a book in Persian language about Seljuks, wrote by Muhammad bin Ali Rawandi, a Seljuk historian. -- Mazandar (talk) 17:01, 24 March 2017 (UTC)

They were of Turkic origin, and certainly they spoke Turkic, this is true. But we can't include Turkish spelling with Latin script in the article, since modern Turkish language has nothing to do with a medieval Turkic dynasty. Look at Avicenna, we only included the Arabic spelling, this is because he wrote mostly in Arabic, even though it is known that he wrote some works in Persian and even two of his Persian works are still extant, but that's nothing compared to his Arabic works. As you see, it has nothing to do with ethnicity or spoken language, the initial spelling is for those who want to read more about the subject in primary sources, and also for showing the origin of the name. There is no obligation to add an spelling. There's no point in pushing yourself in this. I say it is misleading and not impartial. There are only arabic writing in your example. This indicates that the article is an error. The example does not change the fact that it's a mistake. His last confirmed IP and account were "78.165.72.147" and "AlpAy", blocked and confirmed very recently, who had the exact same geo-location, exact same profiency in English, exact same concerns, and, above all, completely similar target articles as this new IP of the very same range.
