Criticism section needed for neutrality's sake

edit

Where is the Criticism section? The guy has been called "Bloody Blinken" and "Butcher of Gaza" by protestors for his complicity in the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. 46.31.118.94 (talk) 06:47, 12 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

A WP:CONTROVERSYSECTION is an invitation to violate WP:NPOV with any negativity one can find on the subject, such as what you just did in one sentence.  Muboshgu (talk) 15:58, 12 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
Nevertheless, it is a key part of his legacy that he has worked closely with people who are currently wanted by the ICC for crimes against humanity. That's not violating WP:NPOV to say that he has faced criticism for his strategic global alliance with individuals wanted for war crimes. Mccartneyac (talk) 08:39, 16 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
"For example, if a politician received significant criticism about their public image, create a section entitled "Public image" or "Public profile", and include all related information—positive and negative—within that section."
It looks like the best practice is to make a "Public Image" section and include all relevant praise and criticism there. So the "Bloody Blinken" and "Butcher of Gaza" sobriquets can go there along with any other honors or awards or other high profile praise and criticism as well. This article Is a disgrace - no mention of criticism at all 86.26.145.139 (talk) 23:33, 16 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
I second this. would someone be able to add a section about this? during his final press briefing several journalists had to be personally carried/dragged out of the room because he refused to address any criticism at all. mention it. 69.125.160.224 (talk) 04:20, 17 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
The article acknowledges several of the lies Blinken has told in Israel's benefits as well as his likely involvement in rubber-stamping Israel's policy of killing aid workers. There may be no separate section for negative evaluations on Blinken, but it does well in exposing his more astonishing actions. Rafe87 (talk) 19:17, 19 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

Numbering of US cabinet members

edit

Seeing as "67th" has been deleted from the intro of Hillary Clinton's bio, concerning her tenure as US Secretary of State. Should the numbering be removed on 'this' bios & all other US cabinet members & former members bio intros? GoodDay (talk) 23:52, 16 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Yes, what is up with these numbers? Are they really so defining that they need to be in the lead sentences? And "18th United States Deputy Secretary of State"? "26th United States Deputy National Security Advisor"? Who comes up with this stuff? Surtsicna (talk) 00:38, 17 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

More criticism in his last days in office

edit

Blinken was heckled in Washington, D.C., during his address at the Atlantic Council event on the Middle East, with a woman protester in solidarity with Palestine's Gaza shouting "Bloody Blinken", "Secretary of Genocide" and "We will not forgive you."

"Secretary of genocide, you have the blood of hundreds of thousands of innocent people on your hands," shouted the woman protester.

"Your legacy will be genocide. You will forever be known as Bloody Blinken, secretary of genocide. You have the blood of hundreds of thousands of innocent people on your hands! We will not forget, shame on you” she continued while being escorted out.

It's about time experienced editors add this info to the article. 46.31.118.94 (talk) 07:23, 15 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

added.
As noted above, this page likely requires a "Public Image" section where praise and criticism better belongs than tucked away inside other chronological detail or policy-related sections. Mccartneyac (talk) 12:02, 16 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

Blinken is Back in the Headlines

edit

Former US Secretary of State Antony Blinken criticized a decision to recognize Palestine by France, Canada, Australia and the UK as ‘too hasty.’

Blinken wrote on 11 August 2025 in an opinion piece for the Wall Street Journal that while the decision was morally correct, it seemed hasty and not focused on the reality of the situation.

This new development can be added in the article. 157.167.128.180 (talk) 09:01, 20 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
