Religious terrorism

edit

The section states "Five of the terrorist groups that have been most active since 2001 are Hamas, Boko Haram, al-Qaeda, the Taliban and ISIL. These groups have been most active in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nigeria and Syria." If Hamas is indeed one of the most active groups since 2001 (unsourced claim but may be true) then should the list of countries include Palestine? Firestar47 (talk) 10:03, 5 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

The source says, "The majority (66%) of these [deaths] were attributable to just four groups: Islamic State (Isis) in Iraq and Syria, Boko Haram in Nigeria, the Taliban in Afghanistan and al-Qaida." I shall remove Hamas.
Note also the source does not call them "terrorist groups" and it is against policy for articles to call them that. TFD (talk) 12:20, 5 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Personally I think it also problematic to call Hamas 'religious terrorists'. I know they are an islamist group but really their cause against Israel is nationalist. Firestar47 (talk) 17:36, 5 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

"Islam's view on terrorism and terrorists" section

edit

The reference in this section are:

It would appear these consitute a somewhat one-sided view of the subject, in particular one slanted towwards Turkish views on the subject. Tagged accordingly. FDW777 (talk) 17:58, 3 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

I previously tagged that section for excessively relying on primary sources, but editor Zenomemo added new sources and removed the template by claiming the problem was resolved. I think the section still lacks due weight and it does not contain a general overview. StephenMacky1 (talk) 14:18, 4 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Why not list Khamenei as a terrorist?

edit

Nowhere on this page is he mentioned, and he's dead, obviously and with ample evidence ran a terror state, sponsored terrorist groups in the middle east and wanted to kill America. Why is he not included? CarnalCAN (talk) 14:23, 4 March 2026 (UTC)(Blocked sockpuppet Blocked sockpuppet of Oatsandcream, see investigation)--Belbury (talk) 16:33, 14 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

You are welcome to propose a neutrally written addition with appropriate references, and obtain consensus for its inclusion. FDW777 (talk) 14:34, 4 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
And to be specific, my objections are that the addition is 100% not neutral, since it states in Wikivoice several things that Ali Khamenei does not, that article either not covering the claims or framing them as allegations. That's before we get to the completely inappropriate placing of the text in the article. FDW777 (talk) 00:06, 5 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
