List of all coffee bean types

I'm trying to find a list of all coffee bean offerings that Starbucks has had, including discontinued. They got rid of one that was truly phenomenal sometime within the last 7 years, but I can't remember the name to figure out if there's something similar from another company. I think such a list would be interesting/helpful to other coffee fiends! LeslieO13 (talk) 15:24, 1 September 2021 (UTC)

Per the Starbucks press release, this section incorrectly describes the benefit as:

In March 2020, Starbucks announced that starting from April 6, employees could use up to two free mental health therapy sessions for themselves or their family members, such as a partner/spouse or children. They can meet with a counselor face-to-face or video call and will also have unlimited access to self-care apps through Lyra Health Inc.[302]

From the Starbucks press release:

Beginning April 6, Starbucks will provide all U.S. partners and eligible family members access to 20 sessions a year with a mental health therapist or coach through Lyra Health, all at no cost to the user.

  • What I think should be changed: Under "Arizona State University" it says that employees can receive a reimbursement of tuition upon completion of each Semester and that "The student can then use the reimbursement to pay any loans or debt incurred during the semester." This is inaccurate now. Starbucks introduced 100% tuition coverage for tuition and fees UPFRONT, so that no debt will occur, and they will only have to worry about books and supply fees.
  • Why it should be changed: This information is out-of-date.
  • References supporting the possible change (format using the "cite" button): https://stories.starbucks.com/press/2015/starbucks-college-achievement-plan-frequently-asked-questions/

Under "How Does The Scholarship and Reimbursement Work?" category, it explains that Statucks will reimburse any remaining tuition and mandatory fees not covered at the end of each semester," leaving students with "full tuition coverage."

"Non-diary milk offerings" section suggested edits

Hello, I have 2 edit suggestions for this section:

First, I just added a line about Starbucks' move from using whole milk to 2% milk in all espresso drinks. I thought this was important to include because it would give viewers context on why 2% milk is the default at Starbucks stores. I already published this change, but feel free to revert this change if anyone thinks it's not relevant.

Second, there is a snippet in this section that talks about salads and baked goods without high fructose corn syrup/artificial ingredients. I think this should be deleted because it's not really cohesive to the rest of this section. From what I can tell, this section focuses on drinks. I have not made any edits to delete this. Please let me know if you agree with this. Mlin141 (talk) 21:22, 23 March 2023 (UTC)

Updating, truncating, and organizing existing content

Hello, I have a few edit suggestions and will be following up on them over the next couple of days.

  1. I plan to update the company overview section with new info. regarding the Reserve coffee shops. Here's the source I plan to use:
  2. I noticed that in the history section (specifically the 20th and 21st century sections) the subsections are structured differently. The 21st century subsection begins a new paragraph every new year, whereas the 20th century does not.
  3. Similarly, the Films and Literature section are structured differently from other sections. They use bullet points, which I think are odd looking when compared to the rest of the Starbucks page.
  4. Lastly, I plan to truncate/condense the parody section to delete excess details not really relating to Starbucks.

@FiorelaEM: Please see WP:FORBESCON - that Forbes article is not a reliable source, so you would need to find a better source to include something about the Reserve coffee shops.

add at the end of American unionization efforts:

Currently most of the unionization efforts are done through SBWU (Starbucks Workers United)[1]. As of now there are over 9,000 American locations and since the first unionized location in New York in 2021 less than 3% have voted to unionize. SBWU and Starbucks have not successfully negotiated a contract. Starbucks claims in a letter and on their website that the Workers United has delayed bargaining, illegally broadcasted bargaining sessions, refused to meet in-person, and that starbuck has reported more than 22 unfair labor practice charges to the NLRB (National Labor Relations Board). Criticisms and Controversies

Starbucks started its business in Russia over 15 years ago and was Russia's fourth most popular coffee chain[1]. By 2022, the company had 130 locations in Russia, and operations on the Russian market brought less than 1% of the company’s annual revenue, according to analyst estimates reported by CNBC[2].

On March 8, 2022, Starbucks suspended all operations of its 130 cafes in Russia, including shipments of coffee and products, as a reaction to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The company said it "has decided to exit and no longer have a brand presence in the [Russian] market[3]." (NPR) Starbucks did not give official statements on whether the company plans to return to Russia or open new locations in Ukraine after the war. Along with the exit, The Starbucks Foundation has contributed $500,000 to World Central Kitchen and the Red Cross for humanitarian relief efforts in Ukraine[4].

Starbucks also officially claimed it would pay its nearly 2,000 Russian workers for six months and help them transition to new opportunities outside the coffee chain. After Starbucks exited Russia, a restaurateur and rapper duo unveiled Stars Coffee, reopening the chain of coffee shops in Russia formerly owned by Starbucks. There is no found evidence that Starbucks is in any way affiliated with Stars Coffee, which replaced it shortly after the company exited Russia[5]. Notnormassatall (talk) 16:04, 23 April 2023 (UTC)

I'm here after being notified that the redirect from Stars and Bucks Cafe no longer has a valid target on this page. I think the recently removed "parodies and infringements" section didn't constitute trivia, and rather demonstrated the global penetration of the Starbucks brand and the company's pattern of vigorously defending it. I do agree that the {{overly detailed}} tag was warranted, but I think there's a middle ground that precludes the removal of reliably sourced content with incoming redirects. Could we condense the section or perhaps rephrase it in list format? Ibadibam (talk) 16:37, 21 August 2023 (UTC)

There should be a seasonal drinks section. There’s a whole article(although short) about the Pumpkin Spice Latte, but it doesn’t even have a tiny section in this article. Is this to avoid repetition? Starbucks Partnerships Subheading

I am newbie when it comes to editing on Wikipedia, in fact, this would be my first edit. I noticed first that under the "Partnerships" Tab there were two collaborations I knew to be missing as a Starbucks barista myself. These missing collaborations include Venmo and Stanley. I believe adding these changes are important to present new relevant partnerships Starbucks has had in the last few years. Boycott amidst the 2023 Israel-Hamas war

"to sue the Starbucks Workers United (SWU) union for making a social media post in solidarity with Palestine" This only mentions the first part of what happened, but not the second. Which consequently gives a totally false impression of why Starbucks sued. The union in question posted a quote tweet that read 'Solidarity with Palestine' - yes that parts true. What context is missing is what they were quote tweeting: An anti-Israel account showing Hamas tearing down the border fence so they could invade Israel and proceed to massacre over 1,000 Israelis. This source (https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2023/10/13/business/starbucks-israel-palestine-workers) clearly supports the claim. It states “The union, Starbucks Workers United, posted “Solidarity with Palestine” on social media platform X above an image of a bulldozer operated by Hamas tearing down a fence on the Gaza strip during the attacks against Israel last weekend” The SWU post was in support of Hamas. 71.179.129.209 (talk) 21:42, 11 August 2024 (UTC)

Organization and management

Subject of Ransomware Attack November 2024

Starbucks has been impacted by a ransomware attack. The attack was done on its Blue Yonder supply chain management software provider. The attack disrupted Blue Yonder's services, affecting Starbucks' payroll, staff scheduling, also affected other clients like Morrisons and Sainsbury's. Blue Yonder is investigating the breach but has not identified the attackers or provided a full recovery timeline. Reported by WSJ and others. Mezaanx (talk) 11:39, 26 November 2024 (UTC)

Starbucks coffee origins

I heard on a podcast from NPR's 1A that most of the US coffee comes from two countries, Brazil (for the espresso-based drinks, the Arabica bean) or Vietnam (for the instant-based drinks, the Robusto bean). Out of curiosity, I wanted to know what countries does SB source their beans. Knowing the complexity of the bean, especially when they're grown in different locations, I don't think it's possible to roast the same bean variety, even if grown from different origins, and still have coffee that tastes the same. Nonetheless, the article doesn't seem to state the countries of origin. 192.33.240.46 (talk) 14:27, 23 April 2025 (UTC)

Why does Serbia get removed from the locations map?

One thing I've noticed over time is that Serbia keeps getting removed from the map even though it on the list with 9 locations so far. Is this malicious or just ignorant? It gets coloured green and then it's white again, it's ongoing since Starbucks came to Serbia. Sremsky (talk) 11:52, 20 July 2025 (UTC)

Starbucks had approximately 6 retail stores and was expanding its retail holdings. Howard Schultz had left the marketing position at Starbucks, traveled to Italy for “research and experience “ returning to Seattle to form a startup company with a string of coffee carts called IL Giornali. With financial backing he then proceeded to buy Starbucks. He did not move Starbucks from wholesale to retail. 2600:6C42:7800:5058:B47B:8C9F:B13C:7DE6 (talk) 23:33, 3 September 2025 (UTC)

NY courts settlement on mistreatment of employees

Was about a multimillion payment to employees. Still not mentioned here?

"Starbucks has agreed pay more than $35m (£26m) to thousands of workers in New York City, to settle the city's claims that the company denied them stable schedules and arbitrarily slashed their hours."

In discussion of the logo, this statement does not include a citation for the claim that the green of the logo is in reference to the University of San Francisco: "The fish tail was cropped slightly, and the primary color was changed from brown to green, a nod to the Alma Mater of the three founders, the University of San Francisco" I was able to find the same claim made in the following article (which could be cited): https://www.forbes.com/pictures/fgmi45effmg/19-university-of-san-fra/ Sambensim (talk) 21:01, 1 February 2026 (UTC)
