  • ... that Spencer Cobb was a Kentucky Senator for less than four hours?
  • Source: "State Sen. Cobb Dies of Attack". Middlesboro Daily News. January 2, 1962. p. 1.

"Conversely, the shortest tenure was that of Sen. Spencer L. Cobb (D-Nicholasville), who died 2 hours after taking the oath of office, January 1, 1962, the day before the 1962 Regular Session convened."

  • Comment: I made a correction which replaced the citation for the time the oath was administered to Cobb's time of death with the correct source (Lexington Leader p. 2, January 2, 1962, "Spencer Cobb dies after taking oath"). I can make this article available if it is inaccessible for others. Honored to have this article nominated, it is a first for me! William R. Wilks II (talk) 18:57, 8 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
    QPQ: Done.
Overall: This might be a case of WP:IAR, but since the fact itself could be presented as part of a WP:CALC, I think it is appropriate to just laid out the exact duration of his "term": three and a half hours. The duration is, per CALC, a meaningful reflection of the sources, and it would be much more concise and interesting from my side. Anyways, it's just a suggestion, feel free to override me on that!
