I've revised the phrasing of the WP:EXCEPTIONAL claim about the mosque being the first in Egypt. There are no academic sources cited in support of this and, as the only currently cited sources express, it contradicts the more commonly accepted claim that the Amr Mosque in Fustat is the oldest. Per WP:EXCEPTIONAL, this needs much clearer support from high-quality and detailed sources; not a mention in local news articles, which are not written and reviewed by experts.
