Pre- royal charter assembly

edit

This article implies the GA was formed with the Royal Charter in 1663. However, after the Parliamentary Patent of 1643/4, the first General Assembly meeting was in 1647. At the time, the legal entity was "“the incorporation of Providence Plantations in Narragansett Bay in New England."

If the current GA is considered the same as the royal charter GA, then should it also be considered the same as the parliamentary patent GA? I think that makes sense. Sativa Inflorescence (talk) 15:26, 21 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
