Early Life

edit

The first paragraph of the Early Life section is a mess. We're told in the second sentence "After his mother died, Welles ceased pursuing a musical career" but we've never been told that he started pursuing one, how old he was when his mother died, or any other useful background information. In the next sentence we learn "It was decided he would spend the summer with the Watson family at a private art colony established by Lydia Avery Coonley Ward in the village of Wyoming in the Finger Lakes Region of New York." Ah yes, the Watsons! Surely we all know who they are. Everyone knows about the Watsons, right? ~2026-18790-4 (talk) 18:42, 9 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

There is an online copy of Brady's book available with registration at the Internet Archive. That is the text used for that first paragraph in the Orson Welles § Early life section. Perhaps someone could clean that up.

The section was inexplicably cut on December 26. I've restored content that I hope resolves the concerns. It was indeed a mess. — 06:14, 10 January 2026 (UTC)

Welles' voice over work

edit

I was somewhat surprised that the voice over/narration work Mr. Welles did for the Alan Parsons Project album, "Tales of Mystery and Imagination - Edgar Alan Poe" did not find a place in the article nor the discography. He originally did some narration for the album which was not included on the original release due to the time limitations of the LP. Parsons released a mix of the album in 1986 I believe with Welles' voice work being restored as intended due to the longer time afforded by the CD medium. No worries as I can see that there is no 'good' place for its inclusion in this article.THX1136 (talk) 03:03, 8 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
