Image defective -- "Nicolás Jarry in 2018 Davis Cup" ?
editThe image is almost half just a gray rectangle, and is thus useless. How was it even accepted? Somebody remove it ASAP, or find a valid image. The person uploading likely used a defective SD card for his photo camera, or had other issues with the image file somehow. Also, Wikipedia should have a system in place to detect corrupted image photos of humans (or whatever, such as still objects or nature pics) like this one. A warning should show trying to upload such corrupted images. Naki (talk) 20:30, 25 April 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks to a random IP address user for removing the damaged pic. Still, this does not answer the questions raised! --> 1) Why was this damaged photo approved in the first place? 2) Once it was added, why did it survive so long with NObody noticing it is damaged!? Redirect page
editCan we create a redirect page called Nicolas Jarry pointing to this article? It will avoid the disambiguating page. Sashona (talk) 20:26, 26 February 2025 (UTC)

Nicolás Jarry → Nicolás Jarry (tennis player) – The presence of the accent alone is not sufficient to ensure correct disambiguation and we also have the DAB at Nicolas Jarry. ~2026-23012-56 (talk) 23:57, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose per Wikipedia:Diacritical marks, sources I have searched are mixed on usage ( used the accent, while didn't), and this player seems to have very little social media presence (His Instagram uses the shorthand "Nico") so we can't rely on WP:ABOUTSELF here either. Iffy★Chat -- 17:11, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
- If we are to move way from the accent, then I agree with Ortizesp that the tennis player is the primary topic for this name. Iffy★Chat -- 12:48, 18 April 2026 (UTC)
- Move to Nicolas Jarry (tennis). Reliable sources do not appear to use the accented A. 162 etc. (talk) 21:10, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
- Move to Nicolas Jarry and delete DAB, he's clearly PRIMARYTOPIC, and as User:162 etc. mentioned, most refs omit the accent.--Ortizesp (talk) 19:17, 16 April 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah, that's probably better. 162 etc. (talk) 19:19, 16 April 2026 (UTC)
- Move to Nicolas Jarry (tennis) and create dabpage at basename. -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:18, 20 April 2026 (UTC)
- Move to Nicolas Jarry and probably delete DAB. I scrolled for days on Google and never did see the 1600s calligrapher come up. Fyunck(click) (talk) 05:37, 21 April 2026 (UTC)
