One sentence in the second paragraph of the article, "The highest elevation in Nepal is Mount Everest, Earth's highest mountain, rising 8,848 m (29,029 ft) above sea level." is very out of place with the rest of the paragraph's historical content. The fact about Everest is already mentioned in the first paragraph. Please consider removing this sentence.--105.235.159.114 (talk) 18:46, 23 January 2018 (UTC)

This request does not suggest any textual change, only a reordering. At the bottom of section 2.4 "Republic of Nepal (2008–present)", the paragraphs are currently ordered like so:
In February 2014...
In 20 September 2015...
On 25 April 2015...
In October 2015...
It would be more logical and thus easier to read if they were ordered like so, instead:
In February 2014...
On 25 April 2015...
In 20 September 2015...
In October 2015...
This is because April 2015 is chronologically earlier than September 2015. Each of these paragraphs are fairly self-contained and so reordering these paragraphs does not affect the meaning of the text. 209.240.125.139 (talk) 19:54, 1 May 2018 (UTC)

'where are the citations?' please remove dubious claims without citations. In the history section, the article states that "In 1923, the United Kingdom and Nepal formally signed an agreement of friendship that superseded the Sugauli Treaty of 1816." with a reference. So, I went to reference and looked it up. It is a bogus page with just pictures. While Nepal and the UK did sign a new treaty, there is no evidence of the new treaty superseding the old one. Citation needed for the claim that 'the new treaty superseded the older one'. It has some geo-political significance as later in 1950, the Republic of India cancelled all treaties the UK had entered with neighboring countries during British Raj. So, the technicality of indian claims over the ceded territories like Darjeeling, Sikkim, Kumaon, and, Garhwal can be challenged. I am not contradicting the claim made but would like to see a citation of it if it is indeed to be included in the article. There is also no citation for absurd claims like, 'By 250 BCE, the southern regions came under the influence of the Maurya Empire of North India and parts of Nepal, later on became a nominal vassal state under the Gupta Empire in the fourth century CE' in Ancient history section. These are major claims to be made and so should be properly cited. 'https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Land_cover_map_of_Nepal_using_Landsat_30_m_(2010)_data.jpg' shows the entirety of modern-day Nepal's southern border with modern india covered by 30km thick forest with 'malarial mosquitoes'. I would assume it to be even wider and denser forest some 2000 years ago. So, how did Mauryan overcome Malaria some 2000 years ago? This is a contentious political issue in Nepal as to determine who the indigenous people of those areas were. Nepalese consider Tharus who have high anti-malarial blood cells to be the indigenous population. 'https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/3041928'. Indians claim that 'madheshis' who have no natural resistance to malaria are also indigenous population of that area and not immigrants from neighboring bihar. So, please either add citations or remove dubious claims stated without providing any citations.

Nation
The word nation is used a lot. It is an incorrect term, as a nation means a large aggregate of people united by common descent, history, culture, or language. A nation is the people. The correct term would be a state, as a state is defined as a nation or territory considered as an organized political community under one government. Please change it. To anyone following my work in the article
I am well aware of the article's growth in size. I have been tracking it in relation with some of the other longest articles in Wikipedia and it is not quite there yet. I hope to finish expanding before it gets that bloated. That would then be the most opportune time to start trimming; by first removing redundancies, then decreasing word-to-information ratio, and only then evaluating the higher things, like what we can do without and which are completely undue for a summary article. Or, at least, that's how I'd be most comfortable proceeding. Thank you for reading! Usedtobecool TALK ✨ 13:30, 4 December 2019 (UTC)

Inclusion of Bhimsen Thapa in the article
Where is the inclusion of Nepal under the control of Mukhtiyar Bhimsen Thapa for 31 years between 1806-1837? Bhimsen regime saw the defense of the nation against British company government, a large number of reforms in various sectors, infrastructural developments, development of strong military base and its modernization, commercial developments, judicial and legal developments, etc. He is responsible for protecting Nepalese sovereignty against colonial powers like British and effectively running the administration against the burdens of immature kings, princes, and resistance from conspiring nobles and ministers.

He is comparable to King Prithvi Narayan Shah and ahead of other Nepalese rulers like Jang Bahadur Rana, Chandra Shamsher JBR, Judhha SJBR, King Mahendra and King Birendra, all of whom had stable regimes. If there will be a vote for The Greatest Nepalese, he would easily be in the top 3.

Would it be acceptable to folks if we had one sentence about climate change in Nepal in this article? Something about what Nepal contributes to GHG emissions (not much) and the impacts it is experiencing (a lot)? An attempt to do so was made here and reverted. - Hi Takdeerr that is not going to happen.
Wikipedia is "the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit", although in fact this page is semi-protected, and has been for some time.
That means that, to edit the article, you must have created an account and that account must be Autoconfirmed, which requires the user to have made a certain number of edits, over a certain period of time. Looking at the article history, it has not suffered from extensive recent vandalism, so that protection level is likely to remain.
We do not protect articles, or increase the protection level, "in case" there is vandalism, only when there is clear vandalism over a relatively recent period of time. - Arjayay (talk) 17:23, 31 March 2021 (UTC)

Change "Nepalese" to "Nepali." Nepali reflects local morphology, whereas the term Nepalese was influenced by the English. Stylistic guides also encourage the use of Nepali over Nepalese. Please see this article of the Nepali foreign minister asking the people of Nepal to be referred to as Nepali for further reference. https://www.sbs.com.au/language/english/you-ve-been-getting-our-name-wrong-says-nepal-s-foreign-minister EditingSans (talk) 16:30, 21 June 2021 (UTC)

Regarding status of religion in Nepal
As we all know that since the introduction of Interum constitution of 2015, Nepal have adopted democracy with secularism. But here the secularim in Nepal means ; cultural, religious freedom, along with protection of old age religion since time immemorial. So here the old age religion refers to Hinduism which have a history of very old presence in the country and have been given special protection under the constitution of Nepal in the context of secularism, while maintaining religious and cultural freedom. So Hinduism as a religion has been given privileges in the Nepal's constitution. Below is the references regarding the status of Hinduism under Nepal constitution -

Suggestion for section on science and technology
Hi, just a suggestion, many country articles have sections or subsections for 'science and technology', this could be a section on this article as well. The UNESCO Science Report may be a good place ot start and can copied from directly using these instructions. Thanks John Cummings (talk) 12:38, 3 September 2021 (UTC)
- There used to be a Science and technology section. I removed it because it didn't say anything worth saying. When I rewrote most of the article I left the section out, because I could not think of anything worth saying either. The report you link to talks mostly about economy and education. The science-tech proper included things like (a) using tablets to record the damages of the earthquake instead of writing on paper and (b) the constitution mentioning protection and encouragement for scientific endeavours. I have read a few books on Nepal (emphasis on few though) and none of them had anything devoted to science and tech. Usedtobecool ☎️ 04:18, 19 September 2021 (UTC)
Attributing remittance spending patterns to lack of entrepreneurial skills = non-neutral?
The subsection "Foreign employment" currently ends by saying, "Though millions have raised themselves out of poverty, due to a lack of entrepreneurial skills, the remittance is largely spent on real estate and consumption." There are two sources cited for this, an op-ed by a former Nepali ambasador to Qatar and an article on labor migration in Nepal from the ILO. Only the op-ed actually includes this "entreprenurial skills" framing, with the ILO article merely stating that remittance spending made up 25% of Nepal's GDP in 2013. Since that framing is only one of many possible, and it originates as a specific person's opinion, I think per WP:ATTRIBUTEPOV it would be better to describe it as coming from the former ambassador explicitly if we're going to include this material.
I think it could make sense to rework this passage along the lines of:
Remittances make up a significant proportion of Nepal's GDP, between 23.9% and 27.6% from 2015–2020.[3] Surya Nath Mishra, a former Nepali ambassador to Qatar, feels the standard of living of the families of Nepalese migrant workers would be raised to a greater extent by remittances if they spent the money more widely on business activities as opposed to on personal expenses.[4]
That's if we're going to keep the op-ed as a source at all, which I'm not really sure is justified—it seems possible that it gives undue weight to Mishra's perspective, since a single op-ed doesn't make it clear that his stance is especially widespread. As such, I would also be in favor of removing the sentence that uses the op-ed as a source, or supplementing it with analysis of the relationship between remittances and standard of living in Nepal from other sources. For example, this Nepal Economic Form article broadly shares Mishra's perpsective, but this peer-reviewed analysis of the Nepal Living Standards Survey 2010/2011 concludes that remittance-receiving families spend more on education, health, and durable goods such as appliances compared to non-remittance-receiving families, which the authors interpret as signaling long-term gains in standard of living for remittance-receiving families. By drawing from these and maybe other sources we could give a more neutral and comprehensive presentation of the literature on remittance spending and standards of living in Nepal, instead of only presenting one author's take. Of course, we could just link to Remittances to Nepal in the Foreign Employment section and cite Mishra's article there instead if we want to make use of it, and not go into more detail than that in this article.
Since I'm not extended confirmed, I can't make any changes along these lines myself, and any possible change like this seems too substantial for an edit request without prior discussion in any case. How does everyone else here feel? Mesocarp (talk) 00:27, 19 September 2021 (UTC)
- I agree with you that the simplistic "lack of entrepreneurial skills" is not supported by literature that we have. I looked at some online links and they all seemed to think the reasons were more complex than that. However, I think "raised themselves out of poverty" covers long-term positive outcomes of raised standard of living, and increased expenditure in nutrition, health, education and goods". That said, I am open to alternative wording.
Remittances have a significant impact at the household level because they allow migrants and their families an opportunity for increased income and a better standard of living. Income earned from foreign employment has reduced poverty by providing much-needed finances for household consumption, health care and education.
The money sent home by Nepalis working abroad has played a crucial role in lifting people from the traps of poverty.
Sources mention how little of the remittance is used for starting or expanding businesses. This is the top-level article (WP:SUMMARY), so we need to be very succinct and can be more general. With that in mind, do you have a proposal? Usedtobecool ☎️ 04:00, 19 September 2021 (UTC)
- What about something like, "Millions have raised themselves out of poverty through remittances; families of migrant workers tend to have better access to healthcare and education than they would without remittance income.[5][6]"? If we want to keep it terse, that seems like a statement all the sources we've brought up agree on. I wonder if we should also link to Remittances to Nepal in that section ("Foreign employment")? If someone is curious about the broader implications for Nepal's economy, a more detailed breakdown of spending, possible reasons for the spending patterns, etc., that seems like the place to look, and right now there's no way to find out about that article from this one. Please, please remove it. The sentence which cites a ‘Hodgson’ from the 1800s in the section on Ancient Nepal is ridiculous and embarrassing to read.
It’s fucking stupid that anyone with the ability to write would think that such old information is appropriate to reproduce, and almost beyond belief that they were not aware of the scientific racism behind the -oid designation. (I.e. mongoloid, australoid, etc).

I think the suggestion for changing it to "Formerly...", with the UN source cited to indicate that the official name is now just "Nepal", is sufficient, and I don't think an RfC is needed at all for that. What does the phrase "Tibet of China" in the second sentence mean?
The second sentence of the article, describing Tibet's national borders, reads: "It is mainly situated in the Himalayas, but also includes parts of the Indo-Gangetic Plain, bordering Tibet of China to the north, and India in the south, east, and west, while it is narrowly separated from Bangladesh by the Siliguri Corridor, and from Bhutan by the Indian state of Sikkim."
To me, "Tibet of China" appears to be an editing error. I cannot figure out the meaning of the phrase. Adding some clarifying words would help. I suggest: "bordering the Tibetan region of China to the north . . . "
Thoughts? Tdavey (talk) 22:10, 4 September 2022 (UTC)
- "Tibet of China" is short for "Tibet Autonomous Region of China", which I think is better than saying just "China", because it is only Tibet that Nepal borders and because Tibet is not just any place. I do not consider myself qualified to say what the best wording might be, as long as it is something that makes clear it's the place called "Tibet" rather than a geographical Tibet region that Nepal borders, because the sentence is about the human-made borders. As per the above Wikipedia page 17,800 were killed and 1,300 missings so effectively death was around ~19,100. Since most missing people should be considered dead except a few.
In Nepal, most people agree to more than 17,000 deaths. So 16,000 is wrong. If we consider missing people dead then the figure is 19,000 and most probably all missing people are dead except a few who came back.
Please change. "In 1996, the Maoist Party started a violent bid to replace the royal parliamentary system with a people's republic.[60] This led to the long Nepali Civil War and more than 16,000 deaths."

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. Your argument that missing people should be added to the death count is quite unusual. If that is your only basis, please establish consensus that this is an approriate method of counting deaths, and support your argumentation with a reliable source that justifies this unusual analytical treatment of the Nepali Civil War. Actualcpscm (talk) 18:22, 17 November 2022 (UTC)
- 17,800 killed overall is the source of Wikipedia, if you check the link below. In that case death toll is 17,800 not 16,000 displayed on the page. Similarly if we presume most of the missing people alive then also death toll is 17,800 not 16,000. Though most of the missing people may be dead because it's been 20 years they didn't come back. For the ethnicities in the left hand bar there is a list of ethnicities, and Khas-Arya has Chettri, Bahun, Thakuri and Sanyasi as sub castes but excludes the lower castes of Dalit, Kami, Sarki and others even though they all belong to the same indo-aryan pahadi khas ethnicity and the only reason they are seperated is due to caste. So I think its wise to put another caste link under Khas-arya. I think it would be quite backwards of us to establish Khas-arya with only the deemed "upper caste" groups. Adding Kami, Sarki, Damai and others or just "Other Khas" is a good idea since it does't designate them as "Lower" for superficial and castist reasons. 209.166.123.68 (talk) 08:54, 27 June 2023 (UTC)

Official name of Nepal
The official name of each country on Wikipedia has been mentioned. In the same way, Nepal's official name and status must be incorporated. The official name of Nepal is "Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal" and is still in use. kinsu08 17:29, 16 November 2023 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kinsu08 (talk • contribs)
Socialist in constitution
In Nepals Constitution it states "Nepal is an independent, indivisible, sovereign, secular, inclusive democratic, socialism-oriented federal democratic republican state." "Expressing commitment to create the bases of socialism by adopting democratic norms and values, including peoples' competitive multi-party democratic governance system, civil liberty, fundamental rights, human rights, adult franchise, periodic elections, complete press freedom and an independent, impartial and competent judiciary, and the concept of rule of law," "It shall be the economic objective of the State to make the national economy self-reliant, independent, and developing it towards socialism oriented economy with equitable distribution of resources and means, by ending all forms of economic exploitation and inequality, with maximum utilization of available resources and means through the participation of cooperatives, and public and private sector for sustainable development, and to build an exploitation-free society by fair distribution of the achievements made so far." https://www.constituteproject.org/constitution/Nepal_2016 Gorgonopsi (talk) 17:35, 26 November 2023 (UTC)

According to UNGEGN and UNTERM, the official name of Nepal has been changed to "Nepal" as of December 2020. Should it be reflected in the article?

"the flag carrier in shambles"
This phrase appears under the Tourism section as one of the reasons why the tourist industry faces challenges to growth. However, the phrase makes little sense in English. Possibly this is a mistranslation of a Nepali phrase? Could the references to "Nepalese" be changed over to "Nepali"? Nepalese is an incorrect way to denote the people of Nepal. - When you mentioned about the type of people they lived in the nepal, the cluster of people, you divide them into khas arya, actually you have to categorize them as below:
- a. arya:(according to race)
- 1. Chhetri
- 2. bahun
- 3. bishwokarma
- 4. pariyar
- 5. Nepali
- 6. madesi
- b. Mangoliyan
- 1. magar
- 2. gurung
- 3. rai
- 4. limbu
- 5. Thakali
- c. Mixed:
- 1. Newar
- then classified according to caste system:
- 1. Chhetri
- 2. bahun
- 3. bishwokarma
- 4. Pariyar
- 5. Nepali
- according to community:
- 1. Magar
- 2. Newar
- 3. Rai
- 4. Gurung
- 5. thakali and so on
- now according to the religion:
- 1 hindu
- 2 buddhist
- 3 kirat
- 4 masto pujak
- 5 muslim
- you have to categorize like this, you guyz put muslim in the caste category. Muslim is not caste, magar is not caste its a community! For more, you can check the census website https://censusnepal.cbs.gov.np/Home/Index/EN 2400:1A00:B1E0:14F5:AC5F:E5A3:C334:259C (talk) 02:25, 24 April 2024 (UTC)
Why
Why segregating khas arya as a category, it should be obvious which is which. Gives a separation that is favouring khas arya. Should be specific group by its self. In a sequential list, in order. Not putting khas arya on top and giving them precedence. Would be smarter and highlights our diversity as a nation and our peaceful domain.
As above 49.176.133.0 (talk) 09:16, 22 May 2024 (UTC)
- If you put khas arya like that, then put it at the bottom. Because it's an amalgamation of groups. 49.176.133.0 (talk) 09:17, 22 May 2024 (UTC)

The citizens of Nepal are known as Nepali or Nepalese. The Nepali are descendants of three major migrations from India, Tibet and North Burma, and the Chinese province of Yunnan via Assam. Among the earliest inhabitants were the Kirat of the eastern region, Newars of the Kathmandu Valley, aboriginal Tharus of the Terai plains and the Khas Pahari people of the far-western hills. Despite the migration of a significant section of the population to the Terai in recent years, the majority of Nepalese still live in the central highlands, and the northern mountains are sparsely populated.

Statement based on a flawed research?
Hello, I would like to ask about the line "Nepal has consistently been ranked as the country with the lowest IQ in the world." under the Education tab. This statement has three citations, all of them basing their findings on the World Population Review, which in turn bases its findings on "The Intelligence of Nations" by Lynn and Baker. The findings in this book primarily comes from published surveys in Buckley et al., 2013; Christian et al., 2010; Jamison & Lockheed, 1985; Jamison & Moock, 1984. All of these research surveys were done in extremely rural areas around 30 years ago. Just the length of time already makes this result completely unusable, but assigning tests done in rural areas to the entire population is an undeniable case of sampling bias. In fact, in the published work, they mention that they did not add any urban samples because they did not have any.
To be honest, I do not really know if editing in Wikipedia can be done by pointing out fallacies in published research. However, even if no change is made, I would like to request the citations made for this statement ([276], [277], [278]), which are just sensationalised entertainment websites to the actual sources that also point out the controversies in this research: https://www.ulsterinstitute.org/ebook/THE%20INTELLIGENCE%20OF%20NATIONS%20-%20Richard%20Lynn,%20David%20Becker.pdf https://viewoniq.org/ https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/average-iq-by-country

Resignations
If you Google news sources about the current situation it clearly shows that Ram Chandra Poudel has resigned. Could someone please remove him. Accccepting (talk) 00:15, 10 September 2025 (UTC)
- @Accccepting: Please provide links to reliable sources that say President Ram Chandra Poudel has resigned. I see that the Nepaese army have said the president has not resigned. This article should only be updated after the biography of Ram Chandra Poudel has been updated with any confirmation of any resignation.
- Also, I see that the position of Prime Minister is now shown as "vacant" after K. P. Sharma Oli resigned, however the Politics section has not been updated, yet, to say so. Rather than simply removing names, perhaps the article should be amended to mention the circumstances surrounding the resignation. In these sorts of situations, it is usual that someone else will be appointed to act in a senior political position, so saying a position is "vacant" ignores constitutional realities. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 01:18, 10 September 2025 (UTC)

Mount Everest is not the highest point on earth. It is the highest point above sea level. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Everest
The is the first time I've attempted to edit/correct what I believe to be an incorrect claim in an article. Hope this helps! Bradfordmackinlay (talk) 14:42, 5 September 2025 (UTC)
- @Bradfordmackinlay: Good point. How does one measure the highest point on earth? If one measures the tallest point from the centre of the earth then the Chimborazo volcano is the Andes is the highest point on earth. Although, it is not as high as Mauna Kea when measured from base to summit. And both are smaller than mountains on Mars. It seems that the the highest mountains on earth are only measured from above sea level, so the statement that "... Mount Everest, the highest point on Earth." is an ambiguous one and needs to be qualified as being measured above sea level, not from the centre of the earth. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 02:08, 9 September 2025 (UTC)
- @Bradfordmackinlay: I also picked up that the word "tallest" was used instead of "highest". As you point out, on Earth, mountains, and all altitudes are measured by height above mean sea level, while tallness is measured from the base of a mountain to its peak and there are other mountains in the world that are taller than those in the Himalayas, though none are higher. I have reworded the part of the lead you were concerned about as: "... and eight of the world's ten highest mountains, including Mount Everest, the highest point above mean sea level on Earth." Cameron Dewe (talk) 00:28, 11 September 2025 (UTC)
current events
Shouldn't get the current events tag considering the absolute chaos unfolding in the country 149.154.10.161 (talk) 12:42, 9 September 2025 (UTC)
- No. If you read the template documentation for the Current event notice, you will see that the notice is intended for situations where several hundred editors are editing an article in a day. The notice is removed from an article if it has not been edited in 5 hours. This article was edited six(6) times by five(5) editors on 9 September 2025, before that it was last edited on 6 September. that is about one edit every four hours on the 9th. If there were five or six different editors editing this article in an hour, every hour, it might be a different story. Put simply; There is not enough editing activity to justify placing a Current event notice, or even a Current event editnotice (which expires after 14 days.) A current event notice is currently being used on the article about the 2025 Nepalese Gen Z protests, which is an article that is being actively edited about events that are currently happening in Nepal. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 21:05, 9 September 2025 (UTC)
- I believe you're correct that something is needed. The article still identifies the former PM as the current one. There are related tags for articles being affected by current events. So I added the much more appropriate "current-related" tag. The problem with using the "current" tag would be that "Nepal" itself isn't a current event. That's the Gen Z protests. The current-related tag is to be used in situations like this: "This article may be affected by a current event. Information in this article may change rapidly as the event progresses. Initial news reports may be unreliable. The last updates to this article may not reflect the most current information." Psalm84 (talk) 21:43, 11 September 2025 (UTC)
NOTE: The "current-related" tag is entirely appropriate. It alerts readers that the article might not be up-to-date and to contain inaccuracies due to recent events. And that is so. For instance, there's this section:
- On 15 July 2024, K. P. Sharma Oli was sworn in as Nepali Prime minister for fourth time. New coalition was formed between Nepali Congress, led by Sher Bahadur Deuba, and UML, led by Oli. The party leaders will take turns as prime ministers for 18 months each until the next general elections in 2027.[138]
The "current-related" tag invites readers to help correct the article. That would be a useful thing, in this case. There's likely quite a bit of out-dated info due to this crisis. Psalm84 (talk) 21:56, 11 September 2025 (UTC)
- I have added the proper tag..... we'll start working on this. And try to fix the sources to the new edition. Moxy🍁 21:59, 11 September 2025 (UTC)
- Definitely a better tag to use that the Current template originally proposed. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 22:05, 11 September 2025 (UTC)
- Gone through the article made a few changes to update it don't think tags needed anymore..... does anyone see anything needing a change? Did mention the protest in the lead..... of course this will change when a new government structure is formed.... good enough for now I think. Moxy🍁 22:40, 11 September 2025 (UTC)
- Definitely a better tag to use that the Current template originally proposed. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 22:05, 11 September 2025 (UTC)
Isn't there a way to "be bold" and add some prominent link to the top of the Nepal article, in order to send visitors to the protests article, as page hits have spiked from 6,800 to over 175,000?
Most visitors obviously want information on the current event, and so come to this page (hits jumped from about 6,800 to over 175,000 a day a couple of days ago)., but probably have trouble finding it if they don't go to Google again. I actually STARTED a new Wiki page on this crisis (calling it the 2025 Nepali political crisis) until I clicked on Sharma Oli's page and saw there already was a page. I just couldn't find it when I came to "Nepal." I included a short amount of info in the lede, but it was removed for "recentism". I can understand that, but article usefulness should matter a great deal. Even a sentence in the lede or a link near the top could help. Most visitors right now are much more interested in current events than that, "by the 18th century, the Gorkha Kingdom achieved the unification of Nepal," or that "parliamentary democracy was introduced in 1951 but was twice suspended by Nepalese monarchs, in 1960 and 2005," which appear in the lede. Interesting information in itself, but not what probably drove an extra 170,000 people to the Nepal page.
So, just wondering, is there anyway to prominently and directly send readers to the article on the protests, for the sake of easier navigation to the information most are most interested in at present? Psalm84 (talk) 22:12, 11 September 2025 (UTC)

There's no separation called shilpi and no word mulbasi in constitution. It's a desperate work of someone to spread communal hatred. The whole tree is wrong, just try clicking on Shilpi or "others" link and it takes you to one single page. It's just out of the blue addition from a guy with wrong intend Nepwikigod (talk) 18:25, 17 January 2026 (UTC)

- I know what are his points and I will counter it before he talk. So mulbasi is a term that means original people of the land. It is a locally used term by a certain community which he belongs from to claim themselves as the original owner of the land of Nepal and others as foreign invaders. The term "mulbasi" should be changed to adivashi janajati and that's how constitution defines it as “marginalized indigenous”. “marginalized indigenous” Nepwikigod (talk) 18:50, 17 January 2026 (UTC)
- I wrote a long paragraph but didn't know just half of it would post 😅. I will write again once he brings his points I guess Nepwikigod (talk) 18:52, 17 January 2026 (UTC)
- ok for now I will change it to adibasi janjati. Dickipedia369 (talk) 16:15, 18 January 2026 (UTC)
- that's how it should be and always will be until you bring any good source. And mushalman(Muslims) don't fall under the category "madheshi" correct it too. It should be separate Nepwikigod (talk) 18:42, 18 January 2026 (UTC)

Where is the source of child labour in Nepal?
i checked everywhere and it's illegal in Nepal. Kindly provide the source to me. Juddhasumsher (talk) 09:54, 16 February 2026 (UTC)
- Just becauser it's illegal doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. However, I just removed the caption because there was no source for this claim. If reinstated, someone will have to provide a source. –LaundryPizza03 (dc̄) 17:25, 16 February 2026 (UTC)
