Muhammad or Mohammad

User:Derenk recently moved the title of this page from "Mohammad Rizwan (cricketer)" to "Muhammad Rizwan (cricketer)", claiming that this is the "correct common name". However, I have looked at every one of the 71 references on this page. 58 use the spelling Mohammad and only 5 use the spelling Muhammad (the other 8 either don't mention his first name or are paywalled). Since Mohammad is by far the most commonly used name, I believe the article should be restored to that title. CodeTalker (talk) 14:57, 1 October 2023 (UTC)

Oppose, these guys do not have English as their first language and Mohammad, Muhammed, Muhammad, etc. are all very similar and correct ways to romanize the names. It is ambiguous because someone could mishear, misremember or misinterpret the name. Easternsahara (talk) 22:22, 22 June 2025 (UTC)

• Support as the cricketer is the clear WP:PRIMARY topic for all the people named Mohammad Rizwan or Muhammad Rizwan. Therefore, the spelling question raised by Easternsahara does not affect my support for this, as we should move the cricketer and then link to the DAB page Muhammad Rizwan in hatnotes.
