Minor grammar glitch

edit

"they are at parity [with] or slightly higher than" should have "with" in the indicated position, but lacks it. The two comparators, "at parity with" and "slightly higher than" don't share the same final word, so the "or" needs each to be complete; they can't share "than" as their final word, because "at parity than" is not a thing. The page doesn't let me edit, so I hope someone else can fix it. ~2026-13880-91 (talk) 21:54, 3 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

rank and chain of command

edit

"The military organization is characterized by a command hierarchy divided by military rank, ..."

That's not correct. The chain of command is set by order. It usually goes along with the ranks, and extremely rarely against it. But there is no automatism that makes you platoon leader, or chief of battalion, or commanding general, just because you have a rank that fits to that function. ~2026-82464-9 (talk) 23:36, 3 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

"...with ranks normally grouped (in descending order of authority) as officers (e.g. colonel), non-commissioned officers (e.g. sergeant), and personnel at the lowest rank (e.g. private). While senior officers make strategic decisions, subordinated military personnel (soldiers, sailors, marines, or airmen) fulfil them."

It is stated and explained clearly for an overview article, providing basic information about the hierarchy of personnel, officers, enlisted personnel, etc. Lazarokardenjas (talk) 02:00, 6 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
