Add Mexico in users, both Army and Navy use it, it even shows on The Wikipedia pages of Both Mexican Army and Navy equipment 189.174.238.255 (talk) 08:58, 16 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. BilCat (talk) 11:06, 16 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

Neither of these are reliable sources. Please review the above link you were provided carefully, it already explains why. SWATJester Shoot Blues, Tell VileRat! 08:46, 20 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hi,

As the title said : source related to rate of fire is linked to a 404 page. 2A02:A03F:B17C:3000:D97D:A49D:B2F0:DF02 (talk) 13:42, 18 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

Resolved and/or moot... the live PDF and the archive link both worked fine for me just now.... - Adolphus79 (talk) 19:55, 29 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

"fully Automatic"?

edit

The Term Automatic is correct. "fully Automatic" is a redundant civilian term. The selectors on weapons say: safe-Semi-Auto" or "Safe-Semi-Burst". Full automatic is like describing a car's transmissions "fully auto". Wrong. It is Automatic or Semi Automatic (paddle shift), or Manual. 2600:1011:A03F:D546:F999:20ED:598B:FB0C (talk) 16:42, 29 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Select fire: "semi-automatic, fully automatic, and/or burst mode"
It's just a way to differentiate unambiguously between semi-automatic and (fully) automatic. (Hohum @) 17:31, 29 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
The IP is so confidently wrong, it's humorous. All branches of service within the DoD use the term "fully automatic". You can literally pick up the TM for maintaining the M4A1, it's right there under "Equipment Characteristics, Capabilities and Features": The M16 series rifles and M4 series carbines are lightweight weapons. They are air-cooled, gas-operated, and magazine fed. They have a semiautomatic, burst fire capacity, or full automatic fire." Thanks for playing, better luck next time. Canada

edit

Could someone find a reliable source for the claim that Canada uses the M4 Carbine? It's on the "A map with nations that use the M4 Carbine in blue" map, but there are no references anywhere else. ~2026-23053-93 (talk) 18:24, 14 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

I've found images like that on a few articles now, they are user-created and completely unsourced. The image has been removed. - Adolphus79 (talk) 22:32, 14 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

URG-I

edit

"URG-I" redirects to "Special Operations Peculiar Modification" when it probably and hopefully in the future links to "URG-I" in "Variants". Hopefully URG-I can be redirected to M4 Carbine#Upper Receiver Group-Improved (URG-I). Thanks! with cag! Thelarper (talk) 00:30, 24 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Done... P.S. carbine is not capitalized in the article title, I just momentary broke the redirect while updating it when I copied your link... lol - Adolphus79 (talk) 03:43, 24 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
My apologies, and thanks! with cag! Thelarper (talk) 19:39, 24 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Personally, I'd support seeing URG-I broken out into it's own article. We have precedent for splitting off extremely prominent/notable issued upper receiver groups into their own articles, see, e.g. Close Quarters Battle Receiver. There's arguably sufficient coverage on the URG-I and it's adoption across multiple SOCOM units, it's procurement contract, the different legnths/variants of it, the specifications of the system, etc. that we could support a small but non-trivial article on it. Someone would just need to actually write it, as the couple of sentences in this article aren't really doing it justice. SWATJester Shoot Blues, Tell VileRat! 19:55, 24 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Feel free to start it and I will happily add it to my watchlist also and help with what I can. Here, I was just taking care of a non-trivial ER... - Adolphus79 (talk) 20:03, 24 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Draft:URG-I -- enough to get started; I believe there is sourcing out there that indicates which units have which variants (IIRC it's AFSOC the 10.3, USASOC the others) but I don't have it handy so you'll have to search for it. SWATJester Shoot Blues, Tell VileRat! 22:44, 24 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
