Few dozen names of Patriarchs of Jerusalem

edit

These could all be added to this article and are listed at Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem. Began adding a few but given the paucity of current entries for the period between Antiquity and the Medieval (strange naming system to be honest, perhaps better to go by the headings at History of Palestine), I am holding off now. @User:Alansohn, I have begun adding inline citations for the 100 entries I added as you can see here. As I responded to you there, there was only one citation for Elie Wiesel who is listed in a separate section at bottom, and I just assumed no citations were necessary as the information is generally available on the article pages linked. I know Wikipedia is not considered citable source, but I ask for your patience as I pursue fulfillment of your request, as it is a time consuming process. Thank you. So I have managed to add 12 citations this morning and change the quotes for two, as they were originally crafted for List of Palestinians are were irrelevant to the requirements outlined for this page. Some of what I added was for already existing entries that lacked citations. You are most welcome to help add the citations you have requested. Tiamut (talk) 07:53, 8 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Sadly, the article set a very poor precedent before Tiamut started adding entries, with 99% not having sources. Per WP:LISTPEOPLE, the people are notable, but it's the sources that are needed. Thanks for bringing the discussion here. Alansohn (talk) 12:13, 8 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Now up to 21 citations I have added to both new and old entries, making the list about 10% cited. You are most welcome to join in this effort. Tiamut (talk) 09:10, 9 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Tiamut, I'll do my best. After all, "add source(s) re notable(s)" is one of my most frequent edit summaries. Alansohn (talk) 18:43, 10 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
