Mayorkas
editWould the impeachment of Alejandro Mayorkas constitute a scandal? NathanBru (talk) 00:50, 14 February 2024 (UTC)
- No. Mayorkas has not been impeached at all. Only the House has voted.Johnsagent (talk) 16:17, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- No. The House does impeach, the Senate convicts. For Donald Trump, both the first and second impeachments are listed as scandals. NathanBru (talk) 18:48, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
Quite a few people missing
editGary Condit? Bob Menendez? Henry Cuellar? Sure seems a lot of prominent Democrats are missing from this list. All of them made headlines in the newspapers, so they were kind of hard to miss. Sure seems intentional to me. And those were just a few off the top of my head.173.73.32.10 (talk) 19:28, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
- The entire article seems to be biased in this manner. 66.219.250.133 (talk) 06:07, 25 May 2024 (UTC)
- In the Scope and organization of political scandals section, the article uses the standard where:
- "Many decisions are controversial, many decisions are unpopular, that alone does not make them scandals. Breaking the law is a scandal. The finding of a court is the sole method used to determine a violation of law, but it is not the sole method of determining a scandal. Also included as scandals are politicians who resign, quit, run, or commit suicide while being investigated or threatened with investigation."
- Gary Condit was never indicted and never resigned under the suspicion for his alleged actions, instead he lost his primary. For the cases of Henry Cuellar and Bob Menendez, so far they have been indicted but not convicted, and neither have resigned, quit, ran, or committed suicide as of my post.
- Separately, I am confused why the ATF gunwalking scandal is missing from the Obama administration section DerpyContributor (talk) 16:05, 27 June 2024 (UTC)
Where is the ATF gunwalking scandal?
editI read the Obama section of this article a few years ago and it was noted on it at the time, why am I not able to find it now? DerpyContributor (talk) 15:51, 27 June 2024 (UTC)
- I agree. I was looking for it too 96.91.78.177 (talk) 17:17, 27 September 2024 (UTC)
- That’s because you have not bothered to read ATF gunwalking scandal which clearly shows it was a lower level operation of the ATF begun in 2006 under Attorney General Michael Mukasey (R) and George W. Bush (R). Attorney General Eric Holder (D) was not informed about it until 2010 and the program was finally ended in 2011 by Barack Obama (D). No one was ever held responsible.Johnsagent (talk) 16:35, 18 October 2024 (UTC)
This is obviously written by a heavily biased Democrat.
editThis is a list of Republican scandals with a handful of minor Democratic things thrown in. What about Eileen Wang, former mayor of Acadia CA? She was charged in May for acting as an agent for the Chinese and giving them confidential info. What about Gavin Newsom's EDD mismanaging billions of dollars in COVID relief funds that just "disappeared?" Seriously seem to have forgotten about half of California burning down, and the questions about what happened to the billions of federal dollars that were supposed to be spent on prevention but weren't, then the billions of dollars raised for the victims of the fires that not one victim has seen a penny of..What about the questions surrounding the billions of tax payer dollars given to California to help the homeless situation, because the money never made it past the state level. Once again, it disappeared. These are just the ones off the top of my head.
Wikipedia I'm honestly ashamed that you allowed this. I truly felt that this was an unbiased, trustworthy platform and it's obviously not.
The Epstein Files
editNot one mention of this.
It's a shame. If you wanted to make a list of Republican political scandals, that's fine. There's plenty of them! Just call it that. Why lie? Tell the truth. Nothing you say or write for the rest of your life would mean anything to me if I knew you, because you destroyed any credibility you had. So did Wikipedia .
