US figure is incorrect

edit

Most recent treasury print is $26.5T. https://ticdata.treasury.gov/resource-center/data-chart-center/tic/Documents/debtb2024q1.html

Looks like someone mixed up national debt and external debt. 162.211.162.26 (talk) 17:02, 24 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

The external debt of USA is 37 trillion at the least : See Treasury dept or National Debt clock and many other sources including CNN. Simon Plouffe (talk) 06:20, 5 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Source 2 "www.ceicdata.com" is wrong about the nordic coutnries dept.

edit

The debt shown in this source is stated to be in USD but are in local currencies for at least the nordic countries, possibly other countries as well. 65.229.158.214 (talk) 16:15, 3 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Sources 5 and 6 are represented incorrectly

edit

On the page Luxembourg’s debt is listed in trillions, but the source refers to it in billions leading to an absolutely absurd and incorrect supposed debt. 2001:BB6:C35D:A800:81A1:3B02:36EC:4DFC (talk) 16:16, 25 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Yes, 1 trillion is 1 million million. Wikicorrecter2025 (talk) 07:05, 10 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Ireland debt number wildly inaccurate

edit

Ireland's total national debt was 218 billion USD at the end of 2024. This article seems to state that they are 3.1 trillion dollars in debt. What is wrong with the CEIC's data that is causing this? pronounced dee seven two nine (talk) 22:47, 4 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

"% of GDP" column has contraversial data

edit

Is the meaning of the column "external dept percentage from GDP" or "GDP percentage from external dept"? For different countries there is one or other but not consistently one, it does not make sense. Some examples (based on GDP from respective wiki page):

UK total dept is 10,528 and GDP is 3,958, so one way it is about 266% (in the table 293.48%) and other way ~38%

Luxembourg total dept is 3,930 and GDP 100, so 3930% and other way 2,54% (in the table 4.05%)

Netherlands corresponding figures 4,399 and 1,320, percentage 333% or 30% (34.55%)

It seems the column was originally meant to be "external dept percentage from GDP", but then at least Holland and Luxembourg are incorrect ~2025-31525-76 (talk) 22:18, 5 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Row No.7 says Luxembourg has a debt of $3.9T, and it says that is $5,847 per person. It should be $5,847,000 per person. Wikicorrecter2025 (talk) 07:18, 10 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
