@Houtyuhn: It is a general practice on English Wikipedia to use the most recent available image for individuals while they are still alive. Once the subject is deceased, however, we typically switch to an image that is more representative of the period in which they were most prominent, or the closest available equivalent. When available images are scarce and vary in quality, we tend to look for the one that most clearly shows the subject's facial features and overall appearance. – Vipz (talk) 01:54, 24 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
