Unless Wikipedia can defend itself against PR teams, and stops allowing certain political persuasions to get away with it, the credibility of this site will continue to erode.
The IP user may well agree with you since they deleted this text before anyone replied, but for some reason User:Alaska4Me2 decided to restore it in contradiction of WP:REDACT which says, If you've accidentally posted to the wrong page or section or if you've simply changed your mind, it's been only a short while and no one has yet responded, you may remove your comment entirely. -- Pemilligan (talk) 20:38, 9 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

I understand Katie Porter has landed herself in the news and a new wave of edits have joined this page. But I do not see that as justification for protecting the page. All of the malicious edits (of which there have been quite a few, just check the history page) have been reversed. Curious of one of the more tenured members can elaborate a bit more on why protection is necessary. Professorjacobs (talk) 22:18, 13 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
