Her body mass index would be 18,4. This suggests she is underweight. This seems like it should be commented on. Is this character a bad role model for children??? And why are people trying to measure her using just inches and pounds??? I don't see imperial unit users do that regularly. I see it being feet with inches as the smaller measurement. Or stone with inches as the smaller measurement. Are people trying to hide that the character is UNDERWEIGHT??? This formating is strange to me. ~2026-83452-1 (talk) 22:54, 6 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

I don't really think mentioning Kasane Teto's BMI in the article would really be relevant? Also, her BMI is only just on the border of being underweight, hitting the line exactly, which I'd say is pretty standard for someone in her "career." (See the song Spoken For by Flavor Foley.) Plus, I don't know if children are exactly looking to her for health advice. (Not me though, I totally am. She's my role model.) You still make a good point about the units though, it's kinda weird to measure her like that. Maybe Teto is made of butter... mmmmmm kasane butteto... On Teto's gender

edit

I don't think the nonbinary category should be on this page. Kasane Teto was created in 2008 by 2channel users as a prank, and labeling her gender as a chimera was part of that joke. Since there is no official statement from the creators confirming that she is nonbinary, adding that category is really just someone's interpretation of the character. That falls under original research, so I think it is better to leave that category off unless there is some actual evidence to support it.

To elaborate, the argument that 'chimera = non-binary' is an example of synthesis (WP:SYNTH). While 'non-binary' may be defined as being neither male nor female, it is original research to apply that label to a character unless a reliable or official source has explicitly used that term to describe Teto. The article itself already notes that Teto's traits were randomly selected by imageboard users (which includes internet trolls), and retroactively applying LGBTQIA+ labels to the character might be anachronistic. I'm inclined to agree. There is still a difference between a character's gender being a blank slate that fans can project whatever they'd like onto (as stated by Teto's developers ) versus a character being nonbinary. In a similar dispute, that same difference sparked a loooong discussion about how to describe the character Kris from Deltarune, and the result was against referring to said character as nonbinary, though that was a discussion about Wikivoice prose and not categories. I personally don't think categories are a big deal, but this could fall under "adding pages to unverifiable categories" (WP:CATDD).  Vanilla  Wizard 💙 00:42, 5 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Miiversal yeah I agree GoboVR (talk) 23:56, 8 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
The page appears in my watchlist quite frequently over the past few weeks with most of the discussion centered around the gender issue. I think we should put an invisible comment around.
On the gender itself, maybe "chimera (canonially)[note 1]"? Because "chimera" is not a gender in reality. I'm also thinking about referring to Teto in main text as being "feminine". 海盐沙冰 / aka irisChronomia / Talk 11:08, 14 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Birdbrain usage rights

edit

Are we allowed to have Birdbrain used as a video on this article? I know that all of Jamie Paige's music is licensed under Creative Commons, but does that apply to the visuals as well? Audio and video are two separate things, and the animation for the video was done by someone other than Jamie. RteeeeKed💬📖 04:53, 18 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

The video was uploaded to Youtube under Creative Commons Attribution (it's at the bottom of the video description). This is explained on the file description page at Commons; so, all is well!
The situation is actually a little interesting because all of Jamie's music is released under one of the Creative Commons Non-Commercial licenses, which we can't use on Wikipedia; but the music videos have the regular CC license applied on Youtube so we can use those. And the vocal snippet of Machine Love was apparently approved by Jamie over email. twotwos (talk) 05:11, 18 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Twotwos I might be missing it, but it doesn't look like there's a license of any kind in the video's description on Youtube. RteeeeKed💬📖 05:36, 18 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
@RteeeeKed ah, sorry, technically below the description, not within the text of the description itself; it's a Youtube feature. Might not display on mobile or something but it's definitely there on the desktop site. twotwos (talk) 05:56, 18 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
I can confirm that Birdbrain video on YouTube is still in Creative Commons right now. It's not like Kawaikute Gomen where the artist accidentally uploaded music videos under CC license. - Ivan530 (Talk) 08:57, 18 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
