- ... that an anime ending sequence from Vivinos, featuring a song from Karen Matsumoto and Haruka Sakuraba's unit PiKi, has a "menhera menace"? /PiKi—who proudly claimed the number one spot this week with their song "Kawaii Kaiwai"—is a new unit emerging from Kawaii Lab, an idol project produced by Asobisystem. The unit consists of two members: Karen Matsumoto from Fruits Zipper and Haruka Sakuraba from Cutie Street. + “Kawaii Kaiwai” wouldn't have taken off in the same way without its memorable visuals [in the music video, which are simplified and stylized enough to have become an animation meme. + Since we talked about the opening sequence, we ought to introduce the ending as well. The closing sequence by VIVINOS is very reminiscent of their Pink Bitch Club series, taking Marin’s crush and her interest in fashion as an excuse to turn her into a bit of a menhera menace.
- ALT1: ... that an anime ending sequence from Vivinos, featuring a song from Karen Matsumoto and Haruka Sakuraba's unit PiKi, was memed by fan animators? Source: First two refs in ALT0 + So many talented fan animators have riffed on this sparkly-pink ED to feature their favorite characters.
- ALT2: ... that an anime ending sequence from Vivinos, featuring a song from Karen Matsumoto and Haruka Sakuraba's unit PiKi, was compared to a "snowglobe that swirls with pink glitter"? Source: First two refs in ALT0 + There's a little treat waiting for you at the end of every episode of My Dress-Up Darling Season 2. It's a perfectly encapsulated gyaru aesthetic music video, like a snowglobe that swirls with pink glitter.

- Comment: This hook is a bit long and the nom took a few days to craft up
, give me extra time to find another hook or two.

- QPQs done.-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 04:27, 28 March 2026 (UTC)
- All articles are new enough.-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 04:47, 28 March 2026 (UTC)
- The first 2 are clearly long enough. PiKi, Karen Matsumoto Haruka Sakuraba have a lot of overlap, but they seem to have enough unique content to slide past the requirement as they stand. -TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 04:47, 28 March 2026 (UTC)
- Since being nominated and despite 11 WP:ICs, Vivinos was tagged with
{{Notability}}.-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 10:56, 28 March 2026 (UTC)- User:Grapesurgeon can you explain the tag in the face of what seems to be WP:RS.-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 10:58, 28 March 2026 (UTC)
- @TonyTheTiger: is a blog, is a passing mention passing mention passing mention passing mention passing mention press release/passing mention more substantial coverage, but also this website seems like a blog and not RS? I'm not familiar with this site but this seems to be more substantial coverage. grapesurgeon (talk) 12:01, 28 March 2026 (UTC)
- @Grapesurgeon: WP:SAKUGABLOG is reliable per WP:A&M/ORS (its name can get it mistaken for unreliable, hence folks at WP:ANIME often use the shortcut when need be, myself included) and same for Otaku USA per Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Anime_and_manga/Online_reliable_sources/Archive_3#Three_new_suggestions (the latter is bizarrely not listed at A%M/ORS). And Kai-You (on top of having an editorial policy) has been cited a few times at academic journals (, , ). ミラP@Miraclepine 14:13, 28 March 2026 (UTC)
- Then that is two pieces of WP:SIGCOV. We typically ask for a minimum of three on Wikipedia. grapesurgeon (talk) 21:48, 28 March 2026 (UTC)
- @Grapesurgeon: Actually, that would be three: the ANN source has about two paragraphs worth of info about the ending sequence (it's easy to mistake this as a passing mention since Vivinos is mentioned only once despite producing the ending) as well as (to a lesser extent) another ANN article with another sentence on the ending, getting it above the bar. So I think this should meet GNG and WP:CREATIVE#4c. Also, notability doesn't rely on a hard number, but rather WP:WHYN's SIGCOV requirement
so that we can actually write a whole article, rather than half a paragraph or a definition of that topic
. ミラP@Miraclepine 01:43, 29 March 2026 (UTC)
- Ok I'm fine with anyone removing the template. Imo my notability tag was a fair one; the current presentation is a little borderline, required digging to confirm. grapesurgeon (talk) 03:22, 29 March 2026 (UTC)
- The tag's been pulled. @TonyTheTiger: feel free to resume reviewing. ミラP@Miraclepine 03:25, 29 March 2026 (UTC)

- Copyvio checks all pass Vivinos (13.8%), PiKi (0%), Kawaii Kaiwai (23.1%), Karen Matsumoto (2.9%) and Haruka Sakuraba (1.0%).-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 02:38, 30 March 2026 (UTC)
- With limited image options, none was included in the nomination. Thus, there are no image review issues.-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 11:37, 30 March 2026 (UTC)
- Every fact in each article is sourced with a WP:IC and the prose has an encyclopedic tone.-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 11:43, 30 March 2026 (UTC)
- I'll review the hooks later, but they seem to mostly be discussed/sourced in Kawaii Kaiwai, Vivinos and PiKi-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 12:04, 30 March 2026 (UTC)
- Hooks are the proper lengths.-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 21:38, 2 April 2026 (UTC)
- The first hook will entice a lot of clickthroughs to the unfamiliar term that is linked, but not a DYK nomination article. The others are less interesting to me, but will focus clicks on the new articles that we hope to get exposure. No strong preference.-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 21:38, 2 April 2026 (UTC)
- Sources seem to be in Japanese. Not much else I can check out on this issue.-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 21:48, 2 April 2026 (UTC)
We can checkmark this one.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 21:50, 2 April 2026 (UTC)
