Just a comment in case this comes up again: the recent removal of the old infobox () is clearly warranted. A "historical era infobox" is unhelpful for this topic, since what is described here is more of a general concept with varying definitions rather than a well-defined period. The concept is not illuminated by an infobox that hints at one of those definitions while the lead itself explains this briefly but more clearly. Most of all, the unreasonably long collection of links to dynasties, rulers, etc is very unhelpful and arbitrary, ignores even the timeline that was in the infobox itself, and more importantly ignores the purpose of an infobox: summarizing the article, which in this case, rightfully, does not go over any such list. Readers are much better off without this. R Prazeres (talk) 08:06, 15 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

The article contains the quotation "the available evidence is consistent with the hypothesis that an increase in the political power of these elites caused the observed decline in scientific output." The article does not identify what "these elites" refers to which is critical to understanding the quoted passage. 2001:569:FD5E:2A00:5196:6516:EDBF:2616 (talk) 07:26, 15 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

Regarding the most recent additions : they do not include a page that supports the claim. I reviewed the source — there is a paragraph about the relationship between English society and the Islamic and Jewish religions -pages 18-21 -, but it does not address the influence of Islam on the European Renaissance. Instead, it discusses the military relationship between Christian Europe and the Turks. User:Blueeyesyellowmellow Could you please specify the page number from which you drew that sentence?.Durziil89 (talk) 10:12, 11 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
