  • Sorry for adding it here but I can't find the button for a new topic. If somebody would be able to add that Dernière Danse has also reached 1st place in Bulgarian charts, like The Voice BG. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.123.135.194 (talk) 13:04, 1 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Family background

edit

I realize this article is largely based on promotional/informational material provided by and on behalf of the article's subject herself, but its vague treatment of her family and background seems a bit much. Surely there's more information out there. --Piledhigheranddeeper (talk) 17:18, 10 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

YOU may think that - but with GPDR and the tight control on European personal info there is less and less released about the backstory of people's lives in the media - look at actresses and musicians that are millennials and yes they are younger so less is available, but also they are so controlled that stuff is just kept away from the public.  Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.249.7.24 (talk) 20:01, 4 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Age

edit

The age stated needs changing. Indila had a birthday three days ago yet the article is still showing that she is 34 years old. I don't know how to change this  Preceding unsigned comment added by Joey26Indila (talkcontribs) 14:21, 29 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Label

edit

I assume she is included in Def Jam, not Capitol - in Apple Music or YouTube etc, her music was released by Def Jam Recordings. There's no source abt Capitol. Camilasdandelions (talk!) 12:38, 26 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hi, her label from 2014-c.2020/21 was Capitol. Her album (comprising the main body of her work) was released with Capitol, but at some point in the last few years she has changed over to Island Def Jam. What is best?

A Tricky Question about her Age and Date of Birth

edit

Hello, I am something of an expert on Indila's career but a novice on Wikipedia. I was wondering if somebody more experienced could advise with this.

In early 2014 when she first became popular, Indila's date of birth was not known. She has never acknowledged it herself. Early versions of French Wikipedia showed either a question mark or indeed the wrong date of birth.

Later in 2014, an individual wrote to the mayor's office and obtained a copy of her marriage certificate (or something equivalent), which stated the date of birth as 26th June 1984. A photo of this document was uploaded onto the French Wiki talkpage and her date of birth on Wikipedia changed to that date. After that, multiple websites, reputable and unreputable, began citing it, but they were all citing Wikipedia. Since then it has been considered common knowledge.

Reading about Wikipedia's policies recently, I have read that original research is not tolerated. My understanding is that the gold standard for Wikipedia is not in fact truth, but verifiability. Of course, there are many sources which state the date of birth as 26th June 1984, but these spring originally from the document which was uploaded to Wikipedia, and if Wikipedia treats these as reputable sources, surely that is circular referencing?

I suspect that the genie has long since been out of the bottle, but I wanted to raise this with some more experienced editors. Should the date of birth technically be taken down because its source is somebody's private, original research?

Thank you, Joey 2A00:23C5:ADD0:9E01:75F5:9DA8:FD7F:8375 (talk) 07:58, 26 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
