Merge?
editSubject of the article is already covered at 2025 Homs bombing. Perhaps this article should be merged with that one. Fermiboson (talk) 18:22, 26 December 2025 (UTC)
- No, I just realized, I'll have to delete it. Farcazo (talk) 18:40, 26 December 2025 (UTC)
- There's also 2025 Homs mosque bombing... busy news day. Fermiboson (talk) 18:44, 26 December 2025 (UTC)
- No, it's the same attack but with different pages Farcazo (talk) 18:47, 26 December 2025 (UTC)
- Yeah, sorry, that's what I meant, wrong wording. Fermiboson (talk) 18:48, 26 December 2025 (UTC)
- There are three pages (Imam Ali Mosque attack, 2025 Homs mosque bombing and 2025 Homs bombing) telling the same attack. Farcazo (talk) 18:49, 26 December 2025 (UTC)
- We should merge the pages Farcazo (talk) 18:50, 26 December 2025 (UTC)

- Redirect to 2025 Homs bombing. --WikiCleanerMan (talk) 20:24, 26 December 2025 (UTC)
- Merge to 2025 Homs mosque bombing, which was created first. There is also some discussion about the title and merging at Talk:Ali ibn Abi Talib Mosque bombing. Both this article and the Ali ibn Abi Talib Mosque bombing article, which was previously called 2025 Homs bombing, were created after the 2025 Homs mosque bombing article. Also, I think this merger discussion should probably be held at Talk:2025 Homs mosque bombing, for a centralized discussion. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 22:45, 2 January 2026 (UTC)
- I have changed the discussion target to Talk:2025 Homs mosque bombing#Merge? because there was another discussion was happening there about merging and there was no active discussion happening at Talk:Ali ibn Abi Talib Mosque bombing. To be clear, I think both the articles titled Ali ibn Abi Talib Mosque bombing and Imam Ali Mosque attack should be merged into the 2025 Homs mosque bombing article because the latter article was created first and has a longer page history. The best name for the article can be discussed separately, after the articles are merged. Some discussion about the best name has already been held at Talk:Ali ibn Abi Talib Mosque bombing, which indicates naming the merged article in line with WP:NCWWW, which is the case with the target merger article, is probably better than using the name of the mosque, which seems to be used in various forms in several countries, and could lead to more confusion. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 23:44, 2 January 2026 (UTC)
- It would be good to combine it with Ali ibn Abi Talib Mosque bombing and not with 2025 Homs mosque bombing, because Ali ibn Abi Talib Mosque bombing is the most accurate and has the most content. Farcazo (talk) 00:15, 3 January 2026 (UTC)
- @Farcazo: the article about the Ali ibn Abi Talib Mosque bombing is proposed to be merged into the 2025 Homs mosque bombing, too. One way to do this would be to copy all the text from the Ali ibn Abi Talib Mosque bombing article to the 2025 Homs mosque bombing and then add anything that was missed in the copying process. That is the whole point of a merger. I am saying the target of the merger should be the 2025 Homs mosque bombing article, not because it is the best article but because it was the one that was first created. Both this article and the Ali ibn Abi Talib Mosque bombing article. One way or another they will both end up being merged with the 2025 Homs mosque bombing article, too. Whether the final article will resemble any of the current articles will depend on the quality of the merger, not the current state of the existing articles. I think any discussion about this merger should also take place at Talk:2025 Homs mosque bombing#Merge?. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 22:40, 3 January 2026 (UTC)
- Also, I have changed the venue for the merger discussion back to Talk:2025 Homs mosque bombing#Merge?, so you might like to join the discussion there, instead of here, and expressing your opinion on what content should go there, in place of the existing article. I have undone your change of discussion venue, because I perceive it creates a discussion fork, which is to be avoided, according to the guidelines. Nobody can control the content of Wikipedia articles and, ultimately, the content of all three articles will end up being merged, so I think the discussion also needs be held in one place, not forked to each article, as you seem to want. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 22:40, 3 January 2026 (UTC)
