About the map
editThe last added map which represents the borders of the First Bulgarian Empire is quite more accurate than any others shown before in the page. It's practically impossible to improve any page if admins use their stubbornness and abuse with their editing possibilities instead of presenting true reasons about why the edit should be deleted or reverted. - The map of the so called first Bulgarian state is a fake. All references added have no maps of Bulgars.
- The references Wickham Chris, 2016, Norman Davies, 1997, Cameron Averil 2009 do not have a map of Pagan Bulgars. Map has to be erased. Dellhom (talk) 14:06, 26 April 2026 (UTC)
A false map!
editI read the references of the map First Bulgarian Empire: Wickham Chris, 2016 Norman Davies, 1997 and Cameron Averil 2009. There are no data about the frontiers of this state! All references described some historical data but no map of Bulgarians! The map is a fake, made by a Bulgarian. The map have to be erased. Dellhom (talk) 14:02, 26 April 2026 (UTC)
- There are no page numbers, but the map shown in Medieval Europe (Map 3 Eastern Europe in 850) shows the border at the Danube. It should be sourced in Commons instead anyway. Mellk (talk) 15:58, 15 May 2026 (UTC)
Page with false maps!
editThe picture with the name First Bulgarian Empire in 850 is a fake. There is no valid reference!!! ~2026-26753-35 (talk) 12:36, 15 May 2026 (UTC)
- There are currently three topics on this talk page about the map, we can stick to just one. Mellk (talk) 15:47, 15 May 2026 (UTC)
- There are too many different maps according to different sources. In the introductory part of the article it was written that the Bulgarian Empire reached area from the Adriatic Sea to the Dnieper River, but only a few maps show the extension to the Dnieper. I added one source, according to which the area of the Empire during the time of Boris I was about 610,000 sq. km. and I placed a similar map, but it shows the territorial integrity only to the Dniester River, not Dnieper. On the other hand, many sources here says Bulgaria lost the territories north of the Danube after 893, but other sources (e.g. Koledarov) show Bulgarian rule over Transylvania even under Samuil in the beginning of 11th century. Too much controversial versions and perhaps, every map here will be disputed in some way.--Alber Musketar (talk) 13:04, 23 May 2026 (UTC)
- Some maps in WP Common:
- Current (my edits). Bulgaria in late 9th century
- This map is similar as map in Davies book "Europe. A history", cited in the article. Bulgaria under Simeon I in 925 is without areas north than Danube, losing after 893-896.
- Simeon ruling map about 904, based on Koledarov book. Bulgaria still ruled Transylvania in all 10th century and the beginning of 11th century
- Simeon I (again) but in 927, based on Koledarov and Bulgarian Academy of sciences atlas by Kamburova.
- Bulgaria during the reign of Krum and Omurtag. Here the border to the Dnieper River is well presented.
- The last using map about Balkans in 850. Bulgaria was well represented here along with other countries in the region.

- Koledarov is not neutral. Discus to gain a consensus to change the stable maps. Opinions of Bulgarian researchers are often disputed by international historians. Jingiby (talk) 15:42, 23 May 2026 (UTC)
- Yes, it's true, I see. Mainly Bulgarian sources dramatically expand the area. I agree and I will not make any changes until something else is decided here. Regards!--Alber Musketar (talk) 16:36, 23 May 2026 (UTC)
Wrong name for the Empire
editIt's definitely a troll but the name of the Empire has been changed to "Holy Tuvelic Empire", its religion and denonym have also been changed in a similar manner and the capital is made up and has completely wrong dates ~2026-30214-53 (talk) 17:52, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
