Gifford often attended British comic conventions. Derek Skinn said he had seen Gifford on camera stealing comics from dealers. I sold 1930's comics and he bought from me but though I was losing comics, at £20 and £30 a time, I never thought of him being responsible. Then when Dez told me about him, I knew it was Gifford and how he stole from me. He bought some and talked and talked to me. Then when I turned my back, the bought comics and the ones he planned to steal quickly went into his case and that was it.
