Parents were illegal immigrants

edit

I made a edit on this page clarifying that her parents were illegal immigrants. Another user reverted my edit, claiming that I am "a politically motivated user" because this editor saw my username. It's true, I am a conservative, but you don't have to be politically motivated to realize that her parents broke a United States law, which makes them illegal immigrants. Conservative or not, all Americans follow the same laws, and Delia's parents broke those laws. I am going to re-edit the page, please do not revert it this time. The terminology has been extensively discussed in the wikipedia artilce Undocumented immigrant population of the United States. I'd suggest reading their talk page. The consensus is that undocumented immigrant is the best term, and that "illegal immigrant" is pejorative. EusEck (talk) 20:17, 10 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Too much over-linking: needs copy editing

edit

There are far too many links to the same pages, often in the same section. I'm adding a copy edit tag. Bearian (talk) 10:50, 18 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Clarification on controversial quote

edit

"Quiero decir algunas palabras en español por que yo soy Guatemalteca con mucho orgullio primero que soy Americana" translates to "I would like to say a few words in Spanish, because I am Guatemalan—with great pride—first and foremost, before being American."

This article stays 'The following week the Conservative publication The Blaze would claim that it translated to "I'm a proud Guatemalan before I'm an American."'

What I am confused about is the 'would claim' part. 'would claim' makes it sound like the claim was false. But as far as I can tell, it is not false. Kingturtle = (talk) 15:05, 18 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
