Deaths in Mozambique

edit

I had to remove the mention of death in Mozambique since the reference only talk about the total of deaths since heavy rains began in October 2025 over the country. It has no specific mention of deaths related to the cyclone Fytia and one cannot thus associate indirect death to it. Pierre cb (talk) 12:22, 2 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

@OreoStar-fait: If you want to make a real referenced article with more complete info on this cyclone, you can translate the French version (fr:Cyclone Fytia). Pierre cb (talk) 14:16, 8 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

I'll look into it after I get back from work! Thanks. OreoStar-fait (talk) 14:20, 8 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Problems in need of fixing

edit

As I've said many times, the met history is largely unsourced and needs to be expanded. Also, the impact is poorly written, or has major redundancies:

  • "Authorities conducted proactive evacuations in flood-prone localities" - this is the same as:
  • "Authorities issued alerts and organized evacuations in high-risk areas"
  • "Cyclone Fytia had significant humanitarian and infrastructural impacts across Madagascar after making landfall. " - this is the same as:
  • "Humanitarian needs increased significantly"
  • "Estimates suggest that over 164,000 to potentially up to 200,000 people across dozens of districts experienced some level of impact from the storm." - unclear what this even means. What does "some level of impact" mean? Rainfall?
  • "Over two-thousand homes were flooded, damaged, or destroyed, leaving many residents without shelter." - this is similar and redundant with:
  • "Over 40,000 people were displaced due to flooding and damage to homes."

So try rewriting portions of the impact for flow, and look for more info as well, for the draft to be published. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 17:40, 15 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
