Fillbuster

Is there a reason his filibuster hasn't been mentioned yet? It's been covered in The Guardian, NPR, and AP News. Norbillian (talk) 13:21, 1 April 2025 (UTC)

Norbillian, because you haven't added it yet. WP:BEBOLD.  Muboshgu (talk) 13:37, 1 April 2025 (UTC)
I feel the last sentence, that it may be one of the longest speeches in the history of Congress is lacking a citation. And, also, it's still in progress. Something like, "If he continues to talk until [TIME] it will be the longest speech..." could work as an alternative. TDuVal (talk) 21:15, 1 April 2025 (UTC)
Eh it’ll be corrected when it’s done 2607:F140:400:6C:A1D5:9A45:DCD0:497A (talk) 21:33, 1 April 2025 (UTC)
yeah im wanting a citation too 173.222.1.155 (talk) 23:30, 5 April 2025 (UTC)

American Hero

We should add in the lede that Sen Booker is an American Hero. 173.67.182.46 (talk) 15:19, 1 April 2025 (UTC)

 Not done. That would a be a violation of Wikipedia's neutrality policy. See WP:NPOV, WP:FORUM, and WP:PUFFERY. A. Randomdude0000 (talk) 15:52, 1 April 2025 (UTC)
I disagree. It is a fact which is supported by reliable sources. Senator Cory Booker is an American Hero. 173.67.182.46 (talk) 15:54, 1 April 2025 (UTC)
nah they are correct in that it would show bias. I agree he’s a hero but I understand the position of Wikipedia 2607:F140:400:6C:249A:8DC7:2292:BCFD (talk) 17:40, 1 April 2025 (UTC)
Sen Booker is an american hero as supported by the Merriam-Webster dictionary, definitions 1c, possibly 2b (depending on scope), and defintion 4.
1c: a person admired for achievements and noble qualities = heavily supported by high quality sources.
2b: the central figure in an event, period, or movement = the central figure in a big record-breaking senate marathon speech on or around April 1, 2025.
4: an object of extreme admiration and devotion : idol = heavily supported by high quality sources.
So, this confirms hero. American is confirmed already, no need to reiterate. 173.222.1.155 (talk) 23:27, 5 April 2025 (UTC)

Not a filibuster

Technically what he is doing is not a filibuster as he is not protesting a specific passage of a bill, rather using his time to make a stand. 2607:F140:400:6C:249A:8DC7:2292:BCFD (talk) 17:40, 1 April 2025 (UTC)

Correct. That is why it is now referred to in the article as a "marathon speech", rather than a filibuster. A. Randomdude0000 (talk) 21:53, 3 April 2025 (UTC)

Add vote as the lone Democrat to confirm Charles Kushner, possibly with some background on their relationship as covered by the media.

The lone Democrat to vote yes: Kushner’s home-state senator, Cory Booker. Booker and Kushner have a relationship that goes back decades, dating to when Kushner provided financial support for Booker’s first unsuccessful run for mayor in 2002. When Kushner ran into legal trouble in 2004, Booker wrote a letter testifying to his character; the senator later collaborated with the Kushner family during the first Trump administration on the First Step Act, a bipartisan criminal justice reform bill. “Charlie has helped fuel my hope, as well as made me believe that even in the questionable world of New Jersey politics, there are still spirits who don’t simply act in their self-interest,” Booker wrote prior to Kushner’s sentencing in 2005. according to the New Jersey Globe.
