Lee Silva has proven that the "Buntline Special" existed. I suggest that you read his books. Also, I understand that Stuart Lake did not know if Wyatt Earp's "long-barrel Colt" was with 10 or 12 inch barrel, and Lake was unable to find out; he picked 12 inches; it appears virtually certain that it was 10 inches as the witness at the trial indicated. Image barrel length.

I'm not sure that image is of a Colt Buntline with a 16 inch barrel. Looks a lot closer to around 12 inches. 71.94.167.106 (talk) 07:42, 11 February 2023 (UTC)
