Looks great — I really like what you've done with the "Brand history" section, it feels like it flows much more clearly now with the information from the lead integrated. Will pass this now. MCE89 (talk) 08:14, 7 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
I don’t think the lead is really serving as a summary of the article body at the moment. Most of the information about the brand’s history within the lead is not contained in the body, and the lead doesn’t say anything about the product itself, which takes up much of the article
Described product in lead; moved history out of lead, and merged and reorganised body to accommodate it; summarized history in lead.
”producing Branston Relishes in four different flavours” - Could a date be added for this?
Done.
”Walkers once produced a variety of crisps called "Cheese and Branston Pickle”” - Do we know when this was introduced and discontinued?
Edited, added refs.
I think the "Brand management" section borders a little on feeling like a list of disjointed announcements about various product lines — is there anything that could be added to give a bit more of a narrative to this section, i.e. some context for the brand's broader strategy and sales over this period?
The section already discusses the baked beans campaign against Heinz, and the updates in flavour to its pickles; the brand sales are obviously key facts too.

at which time it ceased to be labelled as Crosse and Blackwell because in Europe this name was sold separately to Princes Group. Over 17 million jars a year are sold in the UK.
The source says In 1960 Crosse and Blackwell was bought by Nestlé who in turn sold the Crosse and Blackwell brands to Premier Foods in 2002. In October 2012 Premier Foods sold Branston Pickle to Japanese food empire Mizkan but production continues at Bury St Edmunds, which I'm not sure quite supports the claim that it ceased to be labelled as Crosse and Blackwell at that point. --- Edited.
Branston Pickle was first made in 1922 in the village of Branston near Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, by Crosse & Blackwell.
I don't see piccalilli, brown sauce or baked beans in this source (although they are mentioned in other sources used in this section). This source is also relatively old — are all of these products still sold by Branston? I'm wondering if this should be changed to Additional Branston products have included... --- Done, and fixed.
In 2017, Branston launched its tomato ketchup, mayonnaise and brown sauce lines in single-serving sachet packaging.
