English translation of the name

The two main sources I've seen online uses the Protestant Christian Batak Church (Lutheran World Federation and World Council of Churches) as the English translation of the name of the church. Shouldn't this be the name on Wikipedia as well? - Bob K | Talk

The new Ephorus, Robinson Butarbutar, has been inaugurated today. There are other new leaders too. I know Robinson personally, but don't know enough about the church to be confident about updating the article. Mdrb55 (talk) 16:02, 13 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Recommend article on Uphorus of the HKBP

I came across articles on two previous Ephorus of the HKBP that were nominated for A7 speedy deletion for lacking assertion of significance. This seems to stem from lack of familiarity with the HKBP and the role of the Ephorus. I was not aware of either, but found that this summary published on WordPress.com (not a WP:RS): "The Huria Kristen Batak Protestan (HKBP), which translates into the Batak Christian Protestant Church, is the largest Protestant denomination in Indonesia, with a reported membership of almost three million faithful." — ERcheck (talk) 19:05, 15 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
