Age of cadets

edit

I came onto this page to understand the age at which children join the cadets. I ended up reading through the sections, the widespread sexual abuse and their training on rifles firing the pretty sizeable 7.62×51mm NATO cartridge. Again I was still asking at what age these kids are joining the cadets a learning to shoot such a high power round.

Nothing in the entire article actually mentions how the kids end up being recruited and from what age. Much of it seems to have been written by the Army Cadet force, considering the self promotion found throughout I was surprised that they hadn't suppressed the horrific child sexual assault section.

Googling suggests 12 year olds are recruited? Surely that can't be right considering the serious childhood safety requirements at that age and that the surrounding cadets are training firing rifles. If they really do recruit 12 year olds I would have serious concerns about parents who put their child in such a seriously unsuitable environment.

Again nothing in the article talks about how the young children are brought in and what their initial experience looks like. Do the 12 year olds attend just during the day on weekends? Or are they sent off for a while like it acts as a boarding school just with lots of guns? (and apparently lots of child abuse). BeardedChimp (talk) 03:32, 26 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
