Cello rock ---> Baroque Pop
editThis song is listed as "cello rock" (which is not a genre) and when you click on it, it links to progressive rock, which this song is not. I think the person who put cello rock was meaning baroque pop, as that is rock/pop with orchestral instruments. So, we need to change "cello rock" to baroque pop to prevent confusion. - Agreed. The violins pretty heavily dominate the song. 129.64.152.58 (talk) 20:05, 28 November 2017 (UTC)

Apologize (OneRepublic song) → Apologize (Timbaland song) – Per WP:SONGDAB: "If (...) disambiguation is necessary (...) use the name of the performer who first performed the song", and "Artists who make a guest appearance, those who are credited with a "featuring", are not included in the disambiguation." This song was first released as a Timbaland single, and was always listed as such on the charts. See for example UK Official Charts (Timbaland presents OneRepublic), Billboard (Timbaland featuring OneRepublic), etc... 162 etc. (talk) 03:09, 10 April 2025 (UTC) — Relisting. - Comment A 2015 RM found consensus against the WP:PDAB title Apologize (song). Note that this discussion happened before the present-day PDAB rules were adopted in 2019. 162 etc. (talk) 03:13, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
- Support move; prefer Apologize (song). This seems like a PDAB situation. O.N.R. (talk) 09:27, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
- Support move; prefer Apologize (song). I agree this seems like an appropriate PDAB. Looking at Pageviews for just this song and the Ed Ames song, >99% of visits are to this article. When you throw in more articles for comparison this one still has about 92% of the views (and note that these other songs are actually redirects to articles about the album or artist). As a secondary consideration, Apologize (song) avoids any confusion or controversy about which artist "should" be credited in the article title.--MYCETEAE 🍄🟫—talk 18:20, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
- Support move to Apologize (song), oppose the Timbaland disambuator. If songdab says use the name of the performer who first performed the song, that would be OneRepublic. Timbaland had to work from something to create the remix. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 08:41, 18 April 2025 (UTC)
- SONGDAB is clear here that this determination is made based on which artist or artists are credited and how they are credited. The example given is to use Without You (David Guetta song) not Without You (David Guetta and Usher song). I did a spot check of the charts and it looks like this one is usually credited as "Timbaland featuring OneRepublic" in North America, "Timbaland presents OneRepublic" in Europe and in at least one market at "Timbaland & OneRepublic". I conflicted about how to analyze "presents" but since Timbaland is always listed as an artist, always listed first, and this was first released as a single from his album, only calling it "OneRepublic song" seems least appropriate. --MYCETEAE 🍄🟫—talk 16:56, 18 April 2025 (UTC)
- It's not clear, then, because SONGDAB specifically says "Use the name of the performer who first performed the song", not who is or how it's credited. OneRepublic performed and recorded it first (even if it wasn't released first). Again, if we stick to the PDAB title, this is not even an issue. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 22:08, 18 April 2025 (UTC)
- I think "performed the song" clearly means a performance released to the public, not a "performance" behind closed doors. Otherwise, a songwriter should always be the one credited, as they presumably performed their song in private when they were writing it. — BarrelProof (talk) 22:55, 18 April 2025 (UTC)
- This is my understanding. And the way we ascertain who the performer is, is by looking at who is credited as the artist. Official chart listings seem like an authoritative source for this information. --MYCETEAE 🍄🟫—talk 01:27, 19 April 2025 (UTC)
