Population comparison in lede

The phrase "and has more people than all of Northern Canada and Greenland combined" might be interesting, but I don't see why such a comparison is needed in the lede. The lede is supposed to be a short summary of the most important points. I'd suggest removing it from there as an inappropriate tangent.
